The eleventh RTO project 21631 "Buyan-M" was launched in Zelenodolsk
Small rocket ship "Naro-Fominsk" project 21631 "Buyan-M" launched. The solemn ceremony was held at the Zelenodolsk shipyard, which is completing the construction of a series of ships of this project.
The ship will be completed afloat, after which the inland waterways will go to Kronstadt to the delivery base of the Baltic fleet to pass the required tests. Serve "Naro-Fominsk" will be in the Baltic, like its predecessor RTO "Grad", completing the passage of state tests.
Naro-Fominsk is the eleventh RTO of the Buyan-M project built at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard. It was laid down on February 23, 2018, launched today, December 9, 2022. It was originally planned that the ship would go to serve in the Black Sea Fleet, but then the decision was changed and the Baltic was assigned as the place of service. A crew has been formed for the ship, and the necessary infrastructure has been prepared at the naval base in Baltiysk.
To date, the Russian Navy has nine RTOs of Project 21631 Buyan-M, and one more will enter the fleet before the end of the year. We are talking about the tenth RTO Grad. The eleventh "Naro-Fominsk" has just been launched, and the twelfth "Stavropol" is under construction. This will complete the series of small rocket ships of this project.
The ships of the project 21631 "Buyan-M" are the modernization of the project 21630 "Buyan" and belong to the multipurpose ships of the "river-sea" class. Designed to protect the economic zone of the state. The main armament is the Kalibr-NK long-range universal missile system for eight vertical silos. Displacement 949 tons. Length 74,1 meters, width 11,0 meters, height 6,57 meters, draft 2,6 meters. The maximum speed is 25 knots. Cruising range - 2500 miles, autonomy - 10 days. Crew - 52 people. A water-jet propulsion unit is installed.
