The eleventh RTO project 21631 "Buyan-M" was launched in Zelenodolsk

Small rocket ship "Naro-Fominsk" project 21631 "Buyan-M" launched. The solemn ceremony was held at the Zelenodolsk shipyard, which is completing the construction of a series of ships of this project.

The ship will be completed afloat, after which the inland waterways will go to Kronstadt to the delivery base of the Baltic fleet to pass the required tests. Serve "Naro-Fominsk" will be in the Baltic, like its predecessor RTO "Grad", completing the passage of state tests.

Naro-Fominsk is the eleventh RTO of the Buyan-M project built at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard. It was laid down on February 23, 2018, launched today, December 9, 2022. It was originally planned that the ship would go to serve in the Black Sea Fleet, but then the decision was changed and the Baltic was assigned as the place of service. A crew has been formed for the ship, and the necessary infrastructure has been prepared at the naval base in Baltiysk.

To date, the Russian Navy has nine RTOs of Project 21631 Buyan-M, and one more will enter the fleet before the end of the year. We are talking about the tenth RTO Grad. The eleventh "Naro-Fominsk" has just been launched, and the twelfth "Stavropol" is under construction. This will complete the series of small rocket ships of this project.

The ships of the project 21631 "Buyan-M" are the modernization of the project 21630 "Buyan" and belong to the multipurpose ships of the "river-sea" class. Designed to protect the economic zone of the state. The main armament is the Kalibr-NK long-range universal missile system for eight vertical silos. Displacement 949 tons. Length 74,1 meters, width 11,0 meters, height 6,57 meters, draft 2,6 meters. The maximum speed is 25 knots. Cruising range - 2500 miles, autonomy - 10 days. Crew - 52 people. A water-jet propulsion unit is installed.

Without the naval version of the Shell, it is a useless ship without air defense.

I wonder why he was transferred from the Black Sea Fleet to the Baltic Fleet? Probably just the lack of air defense systems played a role. Indeed, the launch pad for Caliber - and nothing more, and taking into account the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the INF Treaty, Caliber can also be installed on automobile chassis - it will be much cheaper.

According to the plans of the Navy, Narod-Fominsk should go to the Baltic Fleet, not the Black Sea Fleet.
Calibers are not only hitting ground targets, but also sea targets.
Buyans even went to the Eastern Mediterranean to the BS, and then around Europe to the Baltic.
Buyans have short-range weapons (Duet and Bending). Pantsir M air defense system, the same close combat, only with the best performance characteristics.

The usual strengthening of the Baltic Fleet. Due to disrupted shipbuilding programs, the BF did not wait for corvettes and frigates (except for the first 20380). At the same time, large ships are not needed in the Baltic, but the Buyans as carriers of the Caliber, albeit instead of full-fledged corvettes, will fit perfectly.
For the Black Sea Fleet, they are flawed - low speed, the practical absence of air defense, anti-aircraft defense and low seaworthiness. "Karakurt" is much more preferable here. So the Buyans are being transferred to the Baltic, where their low speed is not critical, air defense will be provided from the coast and the Aerospace Forces, and from where you don’t have to go far. But the extra launchers for the "Caliber" on the northern flank of NATO will be very handy.
If "Karakurt" had appeared a few years earlier, there would have been no talk of any order for "Buyans".

On the "Moscow" there was a bunch of all kinds of air defense. But this did not help him, so he can be considered a useless ship. In any case, he did not show himself in any way at all. And the baby "Buyan M" can launch at least 8 Calibers at power plants, extinguishing several areas for a long time.
Although, taking into account the rejection of the treaty on cruise missiles, it is cheaper to put Caliber on Kamaz.

If you know what really happened to "Moscow" and how it manifested itself, tell us how we, the ignorant, but it seems to me that you are just farting into a puddle.

Of course I know. The flagship of the fleet calmly passed near the enemy coast, studded with Ukrainian and NATO anti-ship missiles, and peacefully watched the American reconnaissance aircraft and Ukrainian UAVs around it. At this time, a sailor on active service went out into the fresh sea air to smoke and threw a bull on the deck under the main caliber launcher. As a result of the ignition of the deck paint (rags, debris, spilled oil, wooden containers - underline as necessary), the main caliber rockets began to explode. As a result, the cruiser ... drowned.

With DBK "Bal" "Onyxes" were shot on land more than once or twice, and maybe "Caliber" too, under the "Zircon" the first sample of the PGRK was released, the launchers are the same, the brains will be set up and you can rivet

From the Caspian waters in 2015, for example, the Grad Sviyazhsk RTOs fired calibers at Syria, and not even bad at all!

Did not have. The air defense of pr.1164 is the air defense system of the formation, a pair of ancient "Os" (their effectiveness can be judged by the "Monsoon"), AK-130 and six "blowtorches" of self-defense. This RRC was supposed to work as part of a formation, being its "long arm" covered by other ships, and not hanging out alone in the middle of the sea.
Moreover, all the air defense of "Moscow" was from the 80s - the same "Fort" was the very first version, with a lower boundary of 25 m.

There are many dark places with Moscow. By and large, Moscow has weapons to fight against ships and boats, only long-range and close-range air defense.

What happened to "Moscow" is not yet known and is unlikely to ever be known. Because NATO won't tell the truth.

Yes, why would it. The Duo + Bagheera bundle is worse only because there are no missiles in the package. But I wouldn't say it's useless. How Bagheera radar is better than Pantsirnaya

Actually, MKRs are ships of the coastal zone! They do not act alone, but according to orders! During the DB, he also has a "long arm", even if 4 "calibers" reach the target, he fulfilled his mission! I think so!

Designed to protect the economic zone of the state.

What is it like? Will violators of the economic zone be beaten with calibers? Hard...
