Memorial to Soviet soldiers demolished in Vilnius
Another Soviet military monument was demolished in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. By order of the local administration, the monument to Soviet soldiers at the Antakalnis cemetery was dismantled.
Recall that the memorial at the Antakalnis cemetery in Vilnius was created in 1951. In 1984, six steles were erected, depicting servicemen from different branches of the armed forces.
More than 3 Soviet servicemen were buried at the Antakalnis cemetery. They died in 1944, freeing the current capital of Lithuania from the Nazi invaders. Now the pro-American authorities in Lithuania have assessed the merits of the liberators, proceeding from their perverted logic.
However, for the current Lithuanian authorities, Soviet soldiers, obviously, are not considered liberators: much closer to them is the Nazi occupiers, in whom many Lithuanians during the Second World War willingly served "on the hook", performing not only service tasks, but also punitive functions .
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation said that the authorities of the Baltic countries are trying to bring together with Russia historical abacus. Also, the Lithuanian authorities are erasing the memory of the victory of the peoples of the Soviet Union over Nazism. However, such statements change little in the policy of the Baltic states, and for some reason the Russian side is not yet using more effective methods, including at least the same economic sanctions.
