Estonia will receive American MLRS HIMARS with long-range missiles ATACMS

Estonia will receive six HIMARS MLRS launchers, an agreement for the supply of American multiple launch rocket systems has been signed. The signing ceremony itself took place last week, the document was signed by Magnus-Valdemar Saar, Director General of the Defense Investment Center of the Estonian Ministry of Defense, and James A. Hirsch, Director of the US Department of Defense Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

According to the agreement, Estonia will receive six M142 HIMARS combat vehicles, as well as missiles for them, including both conventional ammunition (GMLRS) and long-range missiles capable of delivering strikes at a distance of up to 300 km (ATACMS), which the Ukrainians solicit from the United States. The delivery will also include training ammunition and related equipment. All this will cost Estonia "more than 200 million dollars", but here it must be taken into account that the US will pay part of the amount itself. We are talking about 140,5 million.

Estonians will receive the first MLRS in 2024, the delivery will take place through the American program of intergovernmental foreign military sales Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

The fact that Estonia intends to arm itself with American MLRS became known at the end of last year, when, within the framework of the Estonian Armed Forces Development Plan for the period up to 2031, it was announced its intention to purchase operational-tactical systems with a firing range of 350 km. Two options were considered - wheeled MLRS HIMARS and М290А1 MLRS on a tracked chassis. In July of this year, the US State Department approved the potential delivery of six MLRS and ammunition to Estonia, it only remained to sign the final agreement, which happened.

As previously emphasized, the Estonian army will receive new MLRS, and not from the presence of the American army. The production of complexes has already begun.

With the same success, one could say that the United States will simply supply these complexes free of charge.

On the one hand, yes, it is. On the other hand, everything is somewhat more complicated - by supplying your weapons to the army of another state, you are both technically and politically linking the future of this country with your state. And in this bundle you play a dominant role. And it's worth the money.
Pay attention to how individual republics of the former USSR are trying to switch to the weapons of our enemies ...

Not only, according to St. Petersburg, it is possible to work from these missiles from the depths of the country, but also to other objects on the territory of the Pskov and Leningrad regions

I'm afraid that Estonia in this story is just a transit point for the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine. Literally a couple of days ago, it was Estonia who spoke in the vein that Ukraine should strike deep into Russian territory. Mattresses do not want to be too obviously attached to this business, and therefore they traditionally act with the little hands of their sixes. They say we are not in business, Estonia shared, and ask her, and these Baltic mongrels from impunity are already climbing out of their skin and ready for any dirty trick. The installations themselves may remain in Estonia, but long-range missiles are not a fact. winked

It feels like you're living in the 16th century. Can't Estonia become a problem in maritime communications between the enclave and the rest of our territory?
Surely not Estonia can block the exit from the Gulf of Finland with the help of its Western masters?
Or is it nothing that the fake time is reduced for a strike on Kaliningrad, when compared with launch options from Western Europe, for example?

The United States said that they would not supply weapons capable of delivering strikes on Russian territory to / in Ukraine. But you can put Estonia, which will immediately transfer them to Ukraine.

Why does Estonia need long-range missiles? After all, they will not be able to defend themselves against an attack with these missiles! Even with a trial training launch, these missiles will leave their state!

I completely agree with the conclusion of the machine. Ukraine has been begging for them from the United States for a long time, but they do not give them, they do not want to shine. They have already begun to secure themselves in advance and sing psalms that they have nothing to do with it, that they don’t want to, and this is Ukraine itself shelling. But it is precisely for the transfer of these missiles to Ukraine that Estonia is not needed from the hands of the United States. The United States, of course, will then lament ay-ya-yay, like so. Estonia is to blame, not us, we are doves of peace. Something like this.

No. Estonia gained independence during the collapse of the Republic of Ingushetia and the War of Independence that followed in 1918-1920. By the way, the Estonians almost never fought with the Reds. Their main vrpgs were the Germans and the Whites.

And how do you know that the range of Hymars missiles is 350 km? Or maybe she is 501 km? Or 1500 km? Oh, yes, "honest" Americans never cheat. Yes, there is nowhere to put samples on these liars. USA is an empire of lies. In fact, the United States is deploying INF missiles right at our borders. And where are our mobile ground-based missile systems with nuclear warheads Caliber and Zircons? Why are they still not in Kaliningrad, Nicaragua, Chukotka and Cuba?

And so it will be. When we talk about the red lines, and then silently crawl away each time for a new line, it will be so.
You are right, it has already been said a hundred times - as long as something does not threaten the United States itself, they will not stop. Conditionally - there are no our missiles in Cuba - there are US missiles in the Baltic states. And vice versa.

It is high time to lift the moratorium on nuclear testing. Otherwise, after various attacks on our strategic aviation, our sworn enemies may get the impression that our nuclear triad is no good for anything other than parades. Blow the Tsar bomb at 100 megatons, and start a rumor that it is intended for Poseidons, Sarmatians flying to Yellowstone and to every one of the capitals of NATO countries. Oh, for a long time no one in the UN knocked on the podium with a shoe, remembering Kuzma's mother. Sworn partners completely lost their fear.

We don't have to keep a missile base in Cuba. There are plenty of nuclear submarine maintenance bases and a fleet. There is a better option - to place nuclear submarines (DEPL) with Zircons in neutral waters ... Yes
And so that the striped ones understand that we are not joking, make a couple of three launches from a submerged position against targets in neutral waters, so that Washington understands that it is enough for our boats to reload the target coordinates ...

Next in line are Lithuania and Latvia, as well as Finland? The military-industrial complex of the West has already "bitten the bit" in anticipation of the "golden rain" as a result of the buildup of armaments, and interested parties will spin this flywheel. The problem, however, is that even the theorists of capitalism proved the cyclical nature of its crises, and capitalism sees a way out of the crisis in robbing everyone and everything that it can reach. In other words, in unleashing wars. But now capitalism has become a phenomenon on a planetary scale and non-capitalist countries have ended (and the robbery of the remaining non-capitalist countries will not solve the problem, because they are too small). Therefore, in the coming years, everyone will pump up their muscles and play "who will blink first" and the weapons stream will turn into a roaring stream. Well, then the classic. If in the first act there is a gun hanging on the wall in the third act, it will definitely go off.
UPD The pumping up of tension on our western borders (including the threat to the Kaliningrad region) is apparently proactive work so that we do not get involved in a story with China. This is how it looks from the side.

        And where are they?

This is what is being talked about. With its strikes on the Russian airfield of strategic forces, Ukraine “ran into” a point in the military doctrine of the Russian Federation, where it is allowed to use tactical nuclear weapons against an aggressor.
Overseas, they are watching the reaction of the Russian authorities, and, in the event of a sluggish puffing out of the cheeks and hidden "collaboration", provocations against Russian territories will continue.
Russia has little time for an adequate response. The Russian authorities have even less time. peaceful robbery by the oligarchs, the squandering of the country's property and looting, the citizens still endured, hoping for the triumph of reason. I suppose that citizens cannot endure the same duration of the triumph of insanity.
You can’t endlessly pick at the wound, sprinkle it with salt, saying that this salt is supplied by Western partners ...
Now is the time to start and deepen. Post massive destruction of the military structures of Ukraine, including the infrastructure involved (to the point of total chaos and panic), decision-making centers in Ukraine...deepen advancement of the RF Armed Forces to the western borders.

There is not enough money in Estonia to buy such weapons. The United States has placed really "high-precision" short-range missiles near the borders of the Russian Federation. And for the first strike they do not need nuclear weapons. Do we have something similar in Mexico or Canada?
