NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg: Alliance "does not see" conditions for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia
NATO sees no conditions for holding peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, according to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the time for dialogue has yet come.
Despite the desire of some European countries to quickly end the conflict in Ukraine, NATO does not think so. A "talking head" of the alliance named Jens Stoltenberg, citing orders from the hosts in Washington, said that the conditions for negotiations had not yet arrived. In principle, the NATO Secretary General did not say anything new, statements on this topic are periodically voiced by him, so that, apparently, others will not forget this.
Back in mid-November, Stoltenberg, speaking at a joint press conference with the heads of the Foreign and Defense Ministries of the Netherlands, said that the Ukrainian conflict should be resolved on the battlefield, and not at the negotiating table. According to the Secretary General, the time for peace talks has not yet come, Ukraine does not have the position to dictate its terms, so the task of the alliance is to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine win on the battlefield, forcing Russia to accept the conditions of Ukraine, read - NATO, or rather the United States.
At the same time, Stoltenberg warned that Russia should not be underestimated, its capabilities are very large and it has not yet shown all that it is capable of. Therefore, at the last NATO meeting in Bucharest, he called on all countries of the alliance to unite in opposition to Russia and help Ukraine defeat it.
The NATO Secretary General also warned that Russia may not hope for normalization of relations with the alliance after the end of the conflict in Ukraine. Here, Stoltenberg most likely passed off his dreams as the desires of Russia, which does not aspire to this. Moscow has already warned that relations with the West will never be the same again.
- he said.
