NATO will expand until Russia stops 'expressing concern'
Many analysts note NATO's growing interest in Northern Europe. More precisely - to the entry of Sweden and Finland into the alliance. At the same time, most Western analysts deliberately forget that the issue of these countries joining the North Atlantic bloc has been on the agenda for quite some time.
Moreover, we are talking about the legal registration of already existing relations. In fact, both countries have long been participating in many of the bloc's activities in one capacity or another. Joining the bloc is, rather, of strategic importance for peacetime.
NATO is extending the border with Russia by about 1 kilometers. Which automatically increases the risks for our northern regions. Naturally, in such circumstances, Russia will be forced to respond. And this, in turn, will be an additional burden on the country's economy.
But, it seems to me, the biggest danger for us will be a completely different factor. History we have already been taught that the West should not be trusted. "Trust but verify". Remember how nuclear weapons appeared in Europe? And what did it lead to, remember? Now they can use nuclear bombs, more precisely, trained and trained pilots from other countries!
And what will prevent NATO from deploying some of its nuclear weapons in northern Europe? In this case, you know the excuse for Moscow's request as well as I do. This is an internal affair of the alliance and is in no way directed against Russia. This is directed, for example, against the DPRK (by analogy with Iranian missiles).
Naturally, we will take some retaliatory measures and stop the danger. But the main thing here is not the danger of using such weapons against Russia. The main thing in this case is that the Baltic Sea loses the status of a nuclear-free zone! Now let's recall the press reports about the entry of alliance ships into the Black Sea.
What is necessarily mentioned in messages of this kind? The ship is armed with such and such installations for launching missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads! And this radically changes the balance of power in this region. The security of St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad will be questionable. Yes, the whole region.
In April 2022, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that there were practically no obstacles for the Swedes and Finns to join NATO. That is, there is no need for any radical changes in the army.
And on May 15 of this year, he specified the desires of the alliance, which will be realized immediately after the entry of Sweden and Finland into the bloc:
What will be the reaction of Russia?
The fact that a country's accession to NATO automatically turns the state, firstly, into a possible springboard for an attack on Russia, and secondly, into a target for Russian weapons. Whatever the presidents and governments of the member countries of the bloc say about their peacefulness and desire to be good neighbors, the military, who are entrusted with the defense of the state, always consider and will consider such countries as a potential danger.
Accordingly, retaliatory measures will be taken. At least equivalent, and with a normal response, ensuring the defense of the region and the destruction of the enemy in response to aggression. We are well aware that it is impossible to "play war" even with the former "brotherly" people. You must always fight seriously, in full. Kindness to the enemy always entails additional losses not only of material resources, but also of personnel.
Very indicative in this regard was the report that appeared yesterday in the British media that one of the mercenaries, Sean Pinner, previously sentenced to death in Donetsk and then exchanged for our prisoners, tells how he was tortured in the “KGB basements” of Donetsk , and he has now returned to Ukraine to seek revenge. Verily, simplicity is worse than theft.
How will the situation in the region change? It is too early to talk about specific measures on our part. Specifically, no one says anything, which means that everything that the media writes about today is the reflections of specific analysts, politicians, and journalists.
Only one thing is known for certain - Russia will take the necessary measures in all areas of combat use. From underwater fleet to space. As they wrote in Soviet times - on land, at sea and in the air, and in modern times - in space. The potential threat must be eliminated.
Here is what Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel a few months ago:
Can't be more specific. The West understands only when it feels the smell of someone else's fist in front of its muzzle. Be it Russian, Chinese, Iranian or even a North Korean fist. Dmitry Anatolyevich, as a politician, simply replaced the Russian word kulak with foreign vocabulary.
No less harshly immediately after the statements about the desire to join the alliance, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, spoke out:
What's next?
At the beginning of this material, I wrote that NATO has been considering the issue of Sweden and Finland joining the alliance for a long time. It really is. Moreover, proposals to these countries were received many times, but rejected by their governments.
The reason is obvious enough. The neutral status provided huge advantages for the development of the economy. Starting from the ridiculous costs of the army and navy and ending with the supply of resources and raw materials on preferential terms. Well-fed and quite prosperous people did not want to change anything. Everything suited everyone.
Swedish and Finnish politicians were simply afraid of the voters' reaction to such a decision. Swedes and Finns are pragmatic people and do not want to change their own lives for the worse. Consequently, the question of joining the alliance called into question their future political career.
The NWO gave rise to the indoctrination of the population of northern Europe. The media actively began to spread fakes about the atrocities of Russian soldiers in Ukraine, which, naturally, horrified part of the population. Correctly presented information has created conditions under which the population, if it does not unambiguously support joining NATO, will be neutral.
Remember the statements of NATO leaders and politicians from different countries about the rapid admission of Sweden and Finland to the alliance? If a certain discipline is observed by all members of the bloc, today we would ascertain the fact of entry. But something went wrong. The two countries decided to get their own "candy" from this decision. Turkey and Hungary.
In the meantime, the sanctions that have been imposed on Russia have begun to take effect. As always, double-edged. The impact on the economies of the northern European countries proved to be effective. Especially in Finland. The rupture of relations with Russia in some sectors led to the collapse of many entrepreneurs. Time plays against the alliance.
I do not want to say that the decision to join will be canceled at the last moment. Alas, this is not possible. Too much has already been done. But the fact that most citizens already regret it is a fact.
The question of further expansion of the alliance remains. About the same Ukraine, Georgia and others who wish. Alas, I do not see anything rosy in this matter. What is the main postulate of NATO? We hold back Russia! And it doesn't even matter that Moscow is not striving for an aggravation or some kind of escalation. Today the main trump card is democracy and liberal values.
The idea of containing the "barbarians from the East" is cultivated constantly and quite actively. And here the idea of the expansion of the alliance fits very well. The most frequently used in Ukraine, the thesis - "we are supported by the whole world." By the way, other European institutions operate in exactly the same way. The same European Parliament for example.
Is there a way to stop this? There is. In my opinion, this is what our guys in Ukraine are doing now. If the West understands that Russia can not only draw red lines, express concern, raise the issue at the UN Security Council, etc., but also strike if necessary, then it will act much more prudently.
North Korea showed a very good example in this regard yesterday. During the exercises, together with the United States, units of the South Korean army got too close to the borders of the DPRK. The order immediately followed, and openly, published in the press, that the North Korean troops were ordered to shoot at any object that crosses the border without warning.
And the teachings immediately rolled back far enough from the borders. The East is not only a dark matter, but also a cruel one...
