It became known about the escalation on the line dividing the Korean Peninsula into two parts.
This morning (around 9 a.m. KST), according to Seoul, North Korean troops fired several dozen shots from rocket artillery near the border with the Republic of Korea.
It is reported that several packages of MLRS ammunition were fired (according to some reports, more than 120 rockets in total). Shooting, according to South Korean media citing the military command, was carried out by the North Korean side in the coastal zone - "towards the sea border."
Such a reaction of the DPRK troops is associated with the activity of the South Korean army, which was recorded at sea, not far from the border. In Pyongyang, they called the fire from multiple launch rocket systems warning, and the actions of the South Korean army themselves provocative. The headquarters of the DPRK troops announced the need for Seoul to stop provocations in the border zone, including the sea.
Recall that the South Korean military is conducting systematic military exercises with the invitation of American troops. It is this fact that causes concern in Pyongyang. The authorities of the Republic of Korea justify their joint exercises with the Americans by the fact that they allegedly need security from the "unpredictable northern neighbor" and support from the allies.
