Sweden raises alarm over electricity bills
According to Maria Erdmann, managing director of the Swedish company The Sound of Electricity, the people of Sweden were annoyed by sky-high utility bills in January of this year, but now it became clear that it turned out not to be so expensive...
Now, on average, you have to pay about 2 SEK (800 rubles) for the electricity spent in an ordinary apartment for 16-770 people in southern Sweden, and in January this figure should be much higher, Erdmann notes.
Erdmann says.
According to her, the cost of electricity for December, January and February in total could reach about 37 SEK (500 rubles) for a standard private house.
Erdmann said.
According to her, there are several reasons for high electricity prices and they are interrelated. The conflict in Ukraine has made the energy market in Europe difficult, Erdmann explains, and now supply and demand don't go hand in hand.
In Sweden, the Ringhals 4 nuclear power plant has been shut down. It is scheduled to return to service this winter. But at the same time, the largest nuclear power plant in Sweden, Oskarshamn-3, will stop for several weeks - for scheduled preventive maintenance. All this affects electricity prices in Sweden, says Erdmann. Also, the price will depend on what the weather will be this winter on the Scandinavian Peninsula.
Recall that a few years ago in Sweden it was decided to completely abandon the operation of nuclear power plants. Now the opinion expressed by ordinary Swedes does not particularly excite the Swedish government, as the Swedes themselves are increasingly complaining about exorbitant utility rates.
