Director of US National Intelligence Haynes: Russia faced difficulties in the production of high-precision missiles
143
The United States expects a decrease in the pace of hostilities in Ukraine in the near future. This forecast is given by the US National Intelligence in connection with the onset of winter cold.
Director of National Intelligence Avril Haynes spoke at a forum organized by the Presidential Foundation. Ronald Reagan, where she voiced a forecast for the further development of the situation in Ukraine. According to her, in the near future the pace of hostilities will decrease, and this will continue until the end of the winter period. At the same time, the Americans do not undertake to predict how the situation will develop on the line of contact at the end of winter.
Frankly, we already see that the pace of the conflict has slowed down a bit (...) We expect to see this in the coming months as well
Haynes said.
At the moment, US intelligence is much more interested in the question of whether Russia has precision-guided missiles that are used to strike Ukraine's critical infrastructure. According to the forecasts of Western analysts, these stocks should have been exhausted long ago, which was repeatedly stated in Kyiv, but the strikes continue, and massive ones. The US National Intelligence believes that Russia has encountered difficulties with the production of missiles, it does not have the ability to independently replenish the amount that has already been used up to date. Therefore, intelligence does not rule out that Russia is buying these missiles somewhere. At the same time, Washington has no evidence of this.
I can't give exact figures on this site, but this (the consumption of precision-guided munitions) is happening quite quickly. According to our data, they do not have the ability to produce completely at home what they are currently consuming. So it will be a challenge for them
Haines added.
