The commander of the joint forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that there is no threat from Belarus at the present time
At present, no threat from Belarus is visible. This was stated by the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Naev. According to the Ukrainian commander, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are closely monitoring any threats and are preparing for a prompt response to them.
As Naev noted, the situation is under control. But he acknowledged that the accumulation of a joint Russian-Belarusian group of troops continues on the territory of Belarus.
If it is necessary to repel an enemy offensive on the territory of Ukraine, Naev stressed, much will depend on the quantity and quality of the personnel of the joint grouping of Russian and Belarusian troops. He also noted the readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strengthen the northern direction in case of an increased risk of Belarus joining the special operation.
Meanwhile, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly stated earlier that Minsk will not send its troops to participate in a special military operation. According to him, this is simply not necessary, since the Russian army is coping with the tasks set.
The concentration of the Russian-Belarusian grouping near the border with Ukraine, therefore, may take place due to the need to prevent provocations from the Ukrainian side, as well as the invasion of troops from neighboring NATO countries, primarily Poland. After all, it is possible that Warsaw will want to take advantage of the situation and realize its long-standing territorial ambitions in Ukraine. Earlier, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that Warsaw had such plans.
