Latvia sent several hundred generators, tractors and trailers to Ukraine to restore energy infrastructure
The authorities of Latvia, with the participation of enterprises and municipalities, as well as public organizations, have assembled and handed over to Ukraine several hundred generators. It is reported by the Latvian television. In the near future, it is planned to send several more cargoes to Kyiv, including 2 tractors, 2 trailers, a loader and 2 electric generators.
Valdis Vukans, director of the state distribution network Sadales tīkls, noted that Ukrainian specialists have already worked with such equipment, so no special training is required. As soon as the equipment is delivered to Ukraine, local specialists will immediately be able to get to work.
The generators handed over by the Latvian side will be able to immediately supply electricity. To date, ST has also donated 49 transformers and provided other assistance to Ukrainian energy professionals.
In addition, Latvenergo will send a 54-ton three-phase 110-kV transformer to Ukraine in the near future. Smaller companies also provide assistance to Ukraine.
Several Latvian municipalities have sent generators to partner cities in Ukraine, and charitable organizations are also allegedly involved in the donation.
Note that now in Ukraine, generators and transformers have become an extremely scarce commodity. This forced the Kyiv regime to turn to Western countries for help. However, the European Union is not able to provide Ukraine with the proper amount of equipment.
