The US Space Force is working on a warning system in case of a North Korean missile launch.
Through the efforts of a new branch of the US military [Space Force], the Indo-Pacific Command was established. According to the commander of the Space Forces (CS), General John Raymond (now retired), in parallel with this, active work is underway to create a warning system in case the DPRK launches missiles.
Speaking at a webinar hosted by the Mitchell Institute for Space Research, General James Dickinson, head of the US Joint Space Command, outlined a plan to deploy US space forces in the Indo-Pacific region.
Dickinson noted.
The American army, which includes the Indo-Pacific Command of the US Armed Forces, will be responsible for East Asia, as well as the Indo-Pacific region, focusing its attention on the PRC. The new commander of the US Space Forces, Chance Saltzman, who replaced his predecessor Raymond in this post, stated the importance of this new type of aircraft in the region, especially in the context of the "threat" posed by China - the main rival of the States.
It should be noted that the decision to expand its military presence in Asia by the US Constitutional Court takes place against the backdrop of growing tensions in this region. With the participation of US troops, South Korea and Japan recently held joint military exercises in response to Pyongyang's missile tests. North Korea has already successfully launched its ballistic missiles this month. At the same time, visits by US congressmen to Taiwan have become more frequent, while the Chinese leadership is expressing its dissatisfaction with Washington's actions.
Recall that Russia accused the US and NATO of trying to militarize the Asia-Pacific region.
