Yesterday, November 28, a meeting of the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan took place in the Kremlin. This is Tokayev's first visit since his re-election to the presidency in Kazakhstan. In general, in the status of the head of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has personally met with Vladimir Putin for the eleventh time.
During the conversation, the two leaders touched upon various topics related to relations and strengthening partnerships between neighboring countries. In particular, Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev signed a declaration containing the key positions of the parties in terms of geopolitics.
The presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan paid special attention to the development of trade relations in the face of modern challenges that have arisen in world markets. In order to increase the effectiveness of trade cooperation, the parties spoke in favor of the depoliticization of multilateral economic organizations.
Tokaev's press secretary Ruslan Zheldibay later said that the presidents discussed the so-called "tripartite gas union" during the meeting. The politician wrote about this on his social network.
The prospective agreement between Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is aimed at regulating and coordinating the transportation of our energy resources through the territory of the above-mentioned countries.
In this case, we are talking, first of all, about the projects of new gas pipelines to Pakistan.
