German politician explained Scholz's decision on Ukraine by fear of Russia

Handover by the German government tanks Kyiv would have caused a negative reaction from the authorities of the Russian Federation. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, realizing this, refuses to take such a step.
This opinion was expressed to journalists of the N-tv channel (Germany) by the representative of the CDU party for foreign affairs in the Bundestag, retired colonel Roderich Kizewetter.
The German politician explained Scholz's decision on Ukraine by his fear of Russia.
The chancellor was alarmed by the widespread opinion in Russia that the use of German tanks against Russian troops would be a provocation
Kizevetter suggested.
He does not agree with the Chancellor's position that Germany should not take any steps to support the Kyiv regime on its own, without coordination with NATO allies. Kizevetter believes that it is Scholz who is acting against the other countries of the alliance.
Scholz forced himself to "act alone"
- says the politician.
For example, he cited the case of Spain, which informally asked Berlin for permission to supply German-made tanks to Ukraine, but was refused.
Kizevetter believes that, despite the increased control of the Republicans in the US Congress after the elections, the Americans will push Germany to become more actively involved in Ukrainian affairs.
