British edition: The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has developed a military operation to "return" the Crimea by 2023
Ukraine has not abandoned its plans to "return" Crimea; the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has developed a plan for the forcible seizure of the peninsula by the Ukrainian army. This is reported by The Economist with reference to the former commander of the airborne troops of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mikhail Zabrodsky.
The Ukrainian general confirmed that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had developed a special military operation to seize the Crimea, it was being prepared for 2023. Zabrodsky refused to provide any details, also did not name the timing of this operation, but added that in order to implement the plan, it was necessary to "win many battles." That is, the Ukrainian army had to win a series of victories and reach the borders of Crimea in order to begin its capture.
However, to date, Kyiv has not succeeded in realizing this plan. According to a British magazine, the West is wary of Kyiv's various plans for the peninsula, as they believe that this could lead to an escalation of the conflict. According to Western experts and analysts, Russia perceives Crimea as an inseparable part of its territory and can implement a nuclear scenario in an attempt to capture it.
Zelensky has recently been talking a lot about Crimea and plans to seize it by implementing a military option. But, according to The Economist, everyone did not receive support in this matter from their Western sponsors for the same reason. At the same time, not everyone in the West believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are capable of defeating the Russian army in this conflict. Naturally, Kyiv has local successes; to date, the Zelensky regime has managed to implement several ideas, taking advantage of the numerical superiority, as was the case in the Kharkiv region, where there were up to ten sushniks per Russian soldier.
At the moment, Russia has increased its forces by introducing additional reserves into the NVO zone, thereby depriving the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the only advantage in numbers. So the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to "capture" the Crimea is again postponed.
