At the front, a DShK machine gun stand with protection from harrowing discs was seen

The network discusses the find of the Ukrainian military, who discovered an abandoned towed machine gun mount at the front. Many mistook it for the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun, however, upon closer examination, you can see the rack from the 12,7-mm DShK machine gun, with which it was attached to the base equipment, perhaps tank T-62.
As protection for the shooter, steel discs for harrowing were used, which are equipped with agricultural machinery. They are quite capable of protecting against small fragments and small-caliber bullets. The machine gun itself is no longer on the installation.
Judging by the photo, at the moment, Ukrainian militants own the self-made installation. Allegedly, she was captured during the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is possible that earlier Russian fighters recaptured it from Ukrainian soldiers, removed the machine gun and abandoned the installation as unnecessary, since it is more suitable for movement along with lightly armed raid groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine moving in cars than for armored combat formations of the Russian army.
Be that as it may, this case once again demonstrates the ingenuity of soldiers trying to protect themselves on their own in the absence or shortage of standard protective equipment. Both the Ukrainian and the Russian side have enough of this kind of homemade products.
