Ministry of Defense of Belarus: The militarization of Poland indicates the preparation of Warsaw for an offensive war
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus paid special attention to the actions of Warsaw, aimed not only at strengthening the defense potential, but by all indications showing that Poland is actively preparing its army for offensive operations. Poland's closest allies, the Baltic republics, do not stand aside either, clearly not intending to confine themselves to anti-Russian laws and the demolition of Soviet monuments.
Major General Valery Gnilozub, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus for combat control, spoke about the increased militarization of the Polish Army during a meeting with labor collectives of Bobruisk, where topical issues of the current military-political situation were discussed.
- quotes the words of the general, the state news agency of Belarus BelTA.
Gnilozub drew attention to the fact that military infrastructure is being created on the territory of neighboring states at an accelerated pace, designed to receive and deploy NATO military formations. In the Baltic countries and Poland, the modernization of military airfields has almost been completed, which ensures that up to 200 combat aircraft can be based on them. And this is clearly beyond the scope of necessary defense.
In Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, training centers and training grounds are being reconstructed to support the activities of NATO military contingents. In Lithuania, the construction of a new landfill will soon be completed, which was previously planned to begin construction in 2024. New container-type mobile camps are being built at an accelerated pace, in which several thousand military personnel can be accommodated. The existing military infrastructure makes it possible to receive and deploy up to a division and a squadron of combat aircraft, which can be quickly deployed from the United States.
The Belarusian general noted that it is not by chance that Poland's plans to significantly increase military spending, which Warsaw is going to bring to 3% of GDP (one and a half times higher than the NATO norm), look like. The number of the Polish army is going to be increased to 300 troops, which clearly exceeds any defense requirements.
Valery Gnilozub emphasized.
In addition, Warsaw intends to make large-scale purchases of foreign weapons and military equipment worth tens of billions of dollars. In the coming years, 32 F-35 fighters, three divisions of MLRS HIMARS, eight batteries of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, 250 units will be delivered from the United States in the coming years. tanks Abrams. South Korea is purchasing 180 K2 Black Panther tanks, more than 212 K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzers and 48 FA-50 combat training aircraft.
It is very logical that the forecast scenario for the development of escalation from the countries of Eastern Europe, made by the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, fits into the incident with rocket fire on Poland. After all, nothing prevents two "big friends" - Zelensky and Duda - from agreeing on such a provocation in order to draw NATO into a direct confrontation with Russia. Which is clearly in the hands of Ukraine. Hence, it should be expected that such provocations are likely to be repeated in the near future, but already, as they say, more organized and accentuated.
At the same time, the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus drew attention to the fact that after the implementation of Warsaw's plans for military purchases and an increase in the military contingent, the Polish army will be able to independently, without NATO support, conduct military operations with limited goals.
It only remains for Poland, whose economy is going through far from the best of times, to find financial resources for the implementation of such large-scale militaristic plans. Or do they expect that an overseas sponsor will help them in this too?
