Ministry of Defense showed the weekly missile defense system in Moscow
Don-2H is a circular review station that continuously monitors outer space at altitudes up to 40 thousand km and allows detecting ballistic missiles in space, accompanying them, measuring coordinates, analyzing the composition of complex targets and selecting missile heads, directing anti-missiles, and also detect automatically and determine the motion parameters of space objects, transfer trajectory measurements to the Space Control Center.
In a peaceful environment, the radar operates in a low radiated power mode. If necessary, the station is transferred to a more active mode. In the case of a rocket attack, it is capable of operating in a fully autonomous mode, which is provided by independent energy and water supply systems, refrigeration equipment, repair units, and food supplies. Biological protection screens are located around the radar station for several kilometers and a transport tunnel has been built. When the station is operating at full power, input and output are made through it.

Round-the-clock, in real time, the crew of the Don-2H radar command station is processing and analyzing information on the space and radio-electronic situation in the station's area of responsibility.
In order to maintain constant combat readiness, the radar specialists regularly carry out training exercises on detecting, tracking, classifying and hitting ballistic targets, as well as determining the motion parameters of space objects. Training is conducted using special computer programs that simulate real combat conditions.
The radar is controlled with the help of the Soviet supercomputer "Elbrus-2" of the 1980-x model. With minor upgrades, he still successfully copes with his tasks.

At each of the four end walls of the station, there are blocks of transmitting and receiving antennas, as well as mechanisms for their removal and transportation. The station is equipped with phased antenna arrays.

All operations are performed under the control of the operator. To this end, the radar is regularly used to detect launches of space targets and ballistic missile launches from the Plesetsk and Baikonur cosmodromes, from submarines from the waters of the Barents, White and Okhotsk seas.
The uniqueness of Don-2Н lies in its versatility and versatility. The station performs tasks not only in the interests of the missile defense system, it is also integrated into a single system of additional information support for missile attack warning and space monitoring systems.
The unique capabilities of Don-2Н were clearly demonstrated in February of the 1994 of the year, in the course of the experiment conducted in conjunction with the United States on the so-called “space debris” tracking program. The only Russian station was able to detect and build a trajectory of movement in space of a small object - a ball with a diameter of 2 inch (about 5 cm).
