Switzerland rejected Germany's request, leaving Ukraine without ammunition for ZSU Gepard

Kyiv will be left without shells for German self-propelled anti-aircraft installations Gepard, Switzerland did not allow the re-export of ammunition from Germany to Ukraine, as requested by German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht. It is reported by Reuters.

According to the agency, Switzerland rejected Germany's request to supply Ukraine with a consignment of ammunition for the Gepard ZSU, saying that it is a neutral state whose laws prohibit the supply of any military equipment to warring countries. The response to Lambrecht's letter was sent by the Swiss Minister of Economics Guy Parmelin on behalf of the Confederate Government.

Approval of the transfer of Swiss military materials by Germany to Ukraine is still impossible. (...) In accordance with the principle of equal treatment, in the law of neutrality, Switzerland cannot grant a request to transfer military products of Swiss origin to Ukraine while the latter is involved in an armed conflict

- the letter says.

Thus, it can be stated that the batch of ammunition promised by Berlin for the Gepard ZSU will not reach Ukraine, Kyiv will have to look for shells for very voracious anti-aircraft guns somewhere else. But this is also connected with the same difficulties, only Switzerland produces 35x228 mm ammunition for 35 mm Oerlikon GDF automatic guns.

The main part of the Gepard ZSU transferred by the Germans is now located in the southern direction, as they say in Kyiv, they "cover" the sea corridors for the exit of ships as part of the grain deal. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the German anti-aircraft guns "do an excellent job" with the Russian drones-kamikaze "Geranium-2", allegedly knocking them down in "packs". ZSU Gepard 1A2 has a firing range of up to 5 km, and in height - up to 4 km, the radar detects targets at a distance of up to 18 km.

    Switzerland has a strange "neutrality".

Well, Switzerland also sensed that something was wrong, everything was happening .. Italy had already declared something similar.
I represent the cry in Kyiv ha ha ha
And the Fritz will not calm down, so who is who and they would keep quiet in this conflict in a rag .. But no, they want revenge! You will have revenge, we all remember how your military equipment killed the inhabitants of Donbass. We will not forgive! soldier

Switzerland is the country of bankers. They count money. If they were offered to buy this ammunition, I don’t think that there would be problems, but it’s so easy to give it away for no one knows what. Do they need it? There are positive aspects to trading as well.

Uncles from behind a puddle have long squeezed our "Gazprom" - the war with Ukraine has been in full swing for the eighth month, and our gas goes through Ukraine and "Gazprom" pays Ukraine for transit. Paying the enemy!!! This is much cooler than any Switzerland ...

Even if Switzerland is pushed through (which is possible), three anti-aircraft divisions will not radically change the weather. Geraniums will bypass them, if necessary, they will beat out the b / c with NURs and slam them with the same lancet, Geranium or Product 305, for example.

Yes, divisions are not important. important principle. No one has any principles left.

        Although...
What principles, what kind of neutrality can we talk about?
During World War II, they were also "neutral". It is not customary to recall the history of Swiss banks in the formation of German Nazism. The Germans walked around Bern completely freely, trains from Germany to Switzerland traveled. And from our side, only Stirlitz and Pleischner walked around Bern ...
Well, now the same "neutrality" ...

That is why, personally, I did not bathe at all with the news about the supply of Cheetahs. Too exotic even for NATO - in terms of ammunition.
Those. as they announced - I think, "yeah, great, kakbe Shilka, well, for a maximum of two clashes." For these Cheetahs eat BC in tons. And their projectile is very rare.

It is interesting what dill will do with them following the results of complete exhaustion. Probably, as a motorcycle league, they are used for engineering purposes. Or like a tractor. But they can also build a shushpanzer. On the motorcycle league, they mounted a 100-mm.

I would like to supplement it.
I just read about this from the Germans, I immediately give it in translation: "Berlin requested from Bern approximately 12 Swiss-made rounds of ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft tank for Ukraine. In early June, Switzerland officially refused exports for the first time, citing Swiss neutrality."
12400 shots, NOTHING, for such a "thresher". Yes, and they refused.
From the moment they arrived in Ukraine, the "cats ate" the 60000 rounds they had with them.

Switzerland hasn't made them for a long time. We are talking about old Swiss ammunition, which Germany wants to sell from its warehouses as useless.

The shells currently fired by the Gepards are made by Norwegian Nammo. At first there was a compatibility problem, but it has already been resolved.

The news is basically nothing. Even at the stage of importing these memory devices to Ukraine, the Germans honestly warned that there were almost no ammunition for them.
    Another German "feint with ears":
    - at first only helmets and armor and no lethal
    - then formidable self-propelled guns, which a week later are taken back to the fatherland and the Baltic states for repairs
-now here are anti-aircraft guns without BC)))

I don’t understand modern warfare ... If a REAL World War happened, it feels like a year later only a “karamultuk” will shoot.

No humor or jokes. Maybe already TODAY it is right to set the task of re-mastering the production of steam locomotives, breeding war horses and forging sabers and bayonets?

A steam engine, at the very least, it will pull a particularly important power generation on wood-coal. And on a horse, everything is better than on foot.

Generally a strange situation. Switzerland does not sell weapons to warring countries? Why then would someone buy it, so that the soldiers at the training ground would not be bored? Maybe you should buy weapons from other manufacturers so that you can fight.
