The President of the Russian Federation at the Russian Energy Week announced the global economic crisis and named its main causes
The head of the Russian state, Vladimir Putin, made interesting theses on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week. The President said that now the world economy is in a state of acute crisis.
The main reason for the global economic crisis, which affects primarily the energy sector, Putin considers the instability of energy prices and the imbalance of the market. This is due to the actions of individual participants in the energy market, who are actually engaged in subversive activities. And the point here is not only and not so much in the sanctions.
As the president noted, these "individual participants" (meaning the West) set about destroying the infrastructure of competitors through sabotage. For example, explosions near the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines are nothing but an act of international terrorism. Behind him are the same forces who have been "caught by the hand" more than once in such sabotage.
The main goal of sabotage against the Nord Streams, Putin called the rupture of energy ties between Europe and Russia. Naturally, this gap has its beneficiaries. It is they who are behind the sabotage, because they expect to interrupt the supply of Europe with Russian energy carriers with their help.
Europe, in turn, reproaches Russia for being unreliable as an energy supplier. But after all, Russia always fulfills all its obligations, carries out the entire volume of deliveries on time. Therefore, there can be no claims on this issue to her. Moreover, Putin stressed that Russia is further ready to supply energy carriers to Europe, including in the fall of 2022 and in the winter of 2022-2023.
As for the repair of the Nord Stream lines, it makes sense to do this only if, the president believes, they will continue to be operated and their safety will be ensured.
On the issue of energy prices, Putin noted that the West itself is to blame for their growth. The cost of energy resources is not related to the special military operation that the Russian army is conducting in Ukraine. But the spot pricing mechanism is capable of causing huge losses to Europe. We are talking about 300 billion euros, Putin stressed.
The reason for inflation in Europe, which has already reached 10%, is precisely the lack of resources. This time Russia is ready to help Europe overcome the consequences of the crisis, it is ready to trade with Europe, selling its goods and buying European goods. But the European countries themselves refuse to trade with Russia, the President noted.
Any restrictions, including the so-called "price ceiling" for energy resources, will lead to the fact that prices will inevitably rise. By their actions, European politicians are actually destroying the global market economy. In the current situation, Russia will continue to follow the path of transferring trade into national currencies, there is no other way out.
Thus, the President of Russia expressed his readiness for energy and, in general, economic cooperation with Europe. Another thing is that in the current political situation, against the backdrop of the events in Ukraine, does it make sense to think about the economic and energy security of countries that have de facto become participants in the conflict from the side opposing Russia?
The head of state also announced the construction of the so-called Mongolian section of the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline and proposed to build a Black Sea gas hub, the basis of which could be pumping gas through the Turkish Stream.
