Igor Murashov, the general director of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, worked for the SBU and transmitted information to Kyiv that was of interest to the Ukrainian special services. After these facts were revealed, Murashov was expelled to the territory controlled by Kyiv.
Murashov, Director General of ZAES, admitted that he worked for the SBU, transmitting information of interest to Kyiv through various instant messengers. The main information that interested the Ukrainian security forces, according to Murashov himself, was the state of the nuclear power plant after the shelling.

Murashov also admitted that he forbade the station staff to write an appeal to the UN and the IAEA demanding to stop the shelling conducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as this could "hurt the state interests of Ukraine."
