Britain announced the purchase of two specialized vessels to protect underwater pipelines and cables
Britain suddenly became very concerned about protecting its own underwater pipelines and cables. According to the Sky News channel, the head of the British Ministry of Defense, Ben Wallace, announced the purchase of two specialized vessels, the task of which will be to protect underwater communications.
The sabotage on two Russian gas pipelines, Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2, effectively deprived Europe in general, and Germany in particular, of cheap Russian gas, and Russia of income from its sale. Numerous experts, including Western ones, came to the conclusion that only those countries that have all the possibilities for this could have blown up gas pipelines. In addition, one should not disregard the benefits received from undermining the Nord Streams, and the main beneficiaries here are the United States and Great Britain. By the way, it was the British and Americans who first began to claim that the explosions were supposedly arranged by Russia itself.
In the Western press, the belief has formed that Russia, after identifying those involved in the explosions, will attack the underwater infrastructure of these countries, since it has all the possibilities for this. Against this background, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced the urgent purchase of two specialized vessels, the task of which will be to protect underwater pipelines and cables.
Sky News reports.
At the moment it is known that the first vessel, which is a multi-functional research vessel "for conducting warfare at the bottom of the sea", will be part of the British fleet at the end of 2023, the only thing known about the second ship is that it is going to be built at British shipyards. There are no other details.
