Shoigu answered a number of questions on partial mobilization and on the postponement of the start of the autumn draft campaign
In some Russian regions, partial mobilization has already been completed, even the cancellation of previously issued subpoenas is taking place. In others, subpoenas are still sent out to those eligible for military service. It should be said that the event of an all-Russian scale does not pass without overlaps. At the same time, the military command of the RF Armed Forces, the leadership of Russia, and local authorities are trying to quickly take all measures to correct the shortcomings and streamline the draft process as much as possible.
Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, held on September 30, criticized the mistakes made during the partial mobilization and demanded that they be corrected urgently. The head of state instructed the Prosecutor General's Office to promptly respond to all complaints from citizens and process each such signal. The President instructed the draft commissions, which are headed by the heads of regions, to include employees of the prosecutor's office of the appropriate levels.
Today, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov jointly inspected the Patriot temporary accommodation center for citizens called up for partial mobilization. This point is clearly exemplary. It is a pity that not everywhere things are like in the "Patriot". The Minister of Defense spoke with the journalists accompanying the delegation and answered some questions regarding the mobilization.
Here are the main theses of Shoigu's answers to journalists' questions.
Women will not be called up within the framework of partial mobilization, "the plans for this were not and are not, including in the future."
An addition has been prepared to the Decree of the President regarding the deferment from the call of students of commercial universities with state accreditation:
The planned demobilization of conscripts for the autumn draft will take place at the usual time. The postponement of the start of the draft to November 1 will not affect this in any way:
In turn, the mayor of Moscow said that, on behalf of the defense department, the authorities are checking the lists of conscripts for compliance with the requirements of the Ministry of Defense and the Decree of the President of Russia. The head of the city said that the authorities provide a full transport service for the delivery of conscripts to military units. At the same time, assistance is provided to strengthen the material base and ensure living conditions in places of temporary deployment.
