Bloomberg: It will take the United States "long years" to supply new HIMARS MLRS to Ukraine
The transfer of 18 new MLRS (multiple launch rocket systems) HIMARS to Ukraine will take a long time, possibly “many years”. This was reported by Bloomberg. The publication received such information from a high-ranking official of the US Department of Defense.
Unlike previous HIMARS MLRS, new batches of installations will not be supplied from the existing quantity. They will first need to be produced at the enterprises of the US military-industrial complex, as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, ensuring the workload of the American defense industry.
The United States will not be able to promptly supply other equipment that was included in the latest aid package to Ukraine. Its transfer to the Kyiv authorities will also take from 6 to 24 months. And these are only the most optimistic forecasts of the American side.
Recall that at present, the armed forces of Ukraine have already received 16 HIMARS MLRS installations from the United States. Although the American authorities have stated that these installations will be used to combat Russian troops, the Ukrainian military regularly fires at residential areas and civilian infrastructure of the Republics of Donbass and the liberated territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions from the HIMARS MLRS.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly warned the United States and other Western countries about the inadmissibility of arms supplies to Ukraine. The constant transfer of weapons, military equipment, the participation of military instructors and mercenaries turns Western countries into one of the participants in the conflict in Ukraine.
