Trump on sabotage at Nord Stream: This could lead to a major escalation or a world war
Damage to three strands of the Russian gas pipelines SP-1 and SP-2 led to intense discussions in the world community. Almost no one doubts that what happened is a sabotage.
The only question is who is behind the attack on our gas transportation system and what consequences all this will lead to.
Former US President Donald Trump expressed his opinion about the incident.
The former owner of the White House published a number of posts on the social network, where he calls the accident on Russian gas pipelines an extremely resonant event that could lead to a serious escalation or even war.
So, in one of his messages, Trump published a February video with the current President Joe Biden, in which the latter threatens to “put an end to SP-2” if Russia “invades” Ukraine.
Trump signed his post.
The statements of the former US president seriously alerted journalists from the British edition of the Daily Mail, who turned to Trump's press secretary for clarification. The latter replied that the politician's posts speak for themselves.
It is worth noting that in the light of recent events, it is Washington that is most interested in stopping the operation of our gas transportation system. And the point here is not so much in the desire to “annoy” Russia, but in the intention to aggravate the already difficult situation in Europe, making it even more dependent on the United States.
At the same time, if during the course of the investigation the involvement of the Americans in the attack on our gas pipelines is revealed, this may become a kind of casus belli. Thus, Trump in his statements is not so far from the truth.
