US media: Sanctions will help America take a share of the arms market from Russia
17
Defense enterprises of the Russian Federation have reduced their exports due to sanctions pressure from Western countries. These sanctions will help America, if it can properly take advantage of the current situation, to take a share of the arms market from Russia.
According to the American magazine Defense News, such a statement was made by the coordinator of the National Security Council for defense policy and arms control Kara Abercrombie during the ComDef industry conference.
According to US media, a US government spokesman said the Russian defense industry, hit by sanctions, provides an opportunity for companies from the United States and other Western countries to "bite off" market share from Moscow.
From a practical point of view, countries that have had to rely on Russian equipment will find it very difficult to obtain products from the Russian military-industrial complex. Of course, this is an opportunity for industry representatives present in the hall. This is an opportunity for the United States to provide the support these countries need.
Abercrombie said.
This is not the first time such statements have been heard from Washington. For example, back in March, Donald Lu, assistant to the head of the US State Department for South and Central Asian Affairs, spoke about this. He pointed to the opportunities for the United States military-industrial complex that open up after the imposition of sanctions against the Russian banking sector.
