Russian sailors rescue more than 20 migrants from a boat sinking in the Mediterranean
More than 100 illegal migrants from Lebanon were on board the boat that crashed in the Tartus region of Syria. Russian sailors came to the rescue.
When it became known that the boat with more than 100 people on board had crashed, the Syrian authorities launched a search and rescue operation by the Syrian fleet. However, since the base of the Russian Navy in Syria is located in Tartus, the forces and means of the Navy of the Russian Federation were quite expectedly sent to help.
Together with their Syrian counterparts, Russian military sailors began rescue operations. As a result of coordinated actions of Russian and Syrian sailors, 22 people were saved. Military doctors of the Russian Navy provided medical assistance to all the victims. Then the people were taken to hospitals in Tartus.
Unfortunately, it is already known that dozens of people died before the Syrian and Russian military rushed to the rescue. Currently, the search and rescue operation continues. Russia continues to help people very far from Russian borders. How else?
Moreover, if you dig deeper, the very situation with the attempts of unfortunate people, risking their lives, to cross the Mediterranean Sea in search of a better existence, is a direct consequence of the neo-colonial policy of the "collective West". It was the West that destroyed the foundations of the socio-political system, economic stability in the countries of Asia and Africa, contributed to the colossal global social polarization, which ultimately led to the development of migration from the Middle East and African states to European countries to a huge scale.
