German consumers re-apply for gas supplies via Nord Stream
47
After a three-week pause, German consumers again applied for gas supplies via Nord Stream. The shutdown of the gas pipeline was due to the need for maintenance.
The resumption of filing applications for Russian gas is reported, among other things, by Reuters.
American journalists note that the renewed inquiries of German consumers do not indicate that the gas supply through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline has been resumed.
According to data published on the website of the pipeline operator OPAL, which receives fuel from Nord Stream, on the morning of September 19, buyers ordered 3 kilowatt-hours of gas for delivery to this East German gas pipeline. And according to information from the NEL pipeline operator, which also receives SP-652 gas, their customers ordered 554 kWh of "blue fuel" over the same period of time.
The suspension of the Nord Stream operation took place on September 2. It was caused by the failure of the Trent 60 gas compressor unit. Three days later, Gazprom reported that it was not possible to resume the operation of the gas pipeline after scheduled maintenance.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also mentioned this problem. He stated that the technical difficulties caused by the sanctions imposed against Russia do not allow launching the SP-1.
