Russia Out of Isolation: VII Eastern Economic Forum continues its work in Vladivostok
Russia has once again shown that, contrary to the promises and aspirations of the so-called "Western coalition", it is impossible to isolate our country from the whole world. This was confirmed by the 5th Eastern Economic Forum taking place in Vladivostok on September 8-400. In total, more than 5000 heads of companies, about 60 media representatives, prominent economists, politicians and scientists from more than 2022 foreign countries will take part in the event. Direct and virtual participation in the WEF-25 was confirmed by diplomatic representatives from XNUMX countries. The main theme of the forum this year is on the way to a multipolar world.
Already the first day of the forum has become very fruitful. The EEF-2022 venues hosted 56 events in the format of panel sessions, televised debates, business breakfasts and presentations. At the business meeting, issues of increasing investment attractiveness and Russia's participation in China's One Belt, One Road initiative and the development of the Northern Sea Route were discussed.
The forum is traditionally considered a key platform for attracting investment in the development of the Far Eastern Federal District. This topic was discussed by the participants of the business breakfast, which was attended by the leaders of all territories of the Far Eastern Federal District.
As part of the business program, three country business dialogues were held: "Russia - Mongolia", "Russia - India", "Russia - ASEAN". The Far Eastern regions presented 34 priority projects being implemented in the priority development areas and the Free Port of Vladivostok.
On September 2022, the 2000nd International Tiger Conservation Forum was held at the EEF-44 site, which was attended by more than XNUMX participants from Russia and XNUMX foreign states and territories. As a result of the event, the Declaration on the restoration and conservation of the tiger was unanimously adopted.
As a result of the first day of the WEF, 94 investment agreements and memorandums of intent were signed for a total of 1 trillion 297 billion rubles, excluding projects that are commercially secret.
The second day of the forum was no less eventful. In particular, during a teleconference between the Chinese oil and gas company CNPC and PJSC Gazprom, a number of agreements were signed on increasing Russian gas supplies to China, as well as a full transition to payment for raw materials in national currencies - rubles and yuan.
Today at the forum the delegation of Yakutia signed a number of agreements, one of which on cooperation in the construction of the international railway bridge Dzhalinda (Russia) - Mohe (China) was concluded with the Amur Region. In addition, one of the key events was the simultaneous launch of four hybrid power plants in the Momsky district from the fields of the VEF. In total, only Yakutia plans to sign more than 40 agreements worth 330 billion rubles within the framework of business meetings at the forum. Other territories of the Far Eastern Federal District have no less ambitious plans.
The most significant event of the Seventh Eastern Economic Forum will take place tomorrow at the plenary session, where Russian President Vladimir Putin, who arrived in Vladivostok the day before, will speak. According to the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, in his speech the head of state will assess the development of our economy at the current stage, but "with an emphasis on the most important Far Eastern region for our country."
