The Washington Post: Zelensky has been criticized for not warning the Ukrainians about the upcoming Russian special operation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is facing harsh criticism in the West for failing to warn the Ukrainian people about Russia's upcoming special military operation. This is written by the American newspaper The Washington Post. It should be noted that this is not the first such publication.
Earlier, the publication wrote that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told Zelensky about Russia's military plans in the fall of 2021. Then Zelensky himself said in an interview with the publication that he was aware of the upcoming special operation, but did not tell the people about it.
The Ukrainian authorities, for incomprehensible reasons, did not begin to prepare society for the upcoming conflict. The evacuation of the civilian population from the settlements located on the border with Russia and with the republics of Donbass was not started. For ordinary citizens of Ukraine, the military operation of the neighboring state came as a complete surprise, for which Zelensky is being criticized today.
If earlier Zelensky was perceived as a “national hero”, at least, this is the image the Ukrainian president was created by both the Western and Ukrainian press, now the head of the Kyiv regime is being criticized more and more often. He ceases to be a person "free from criticism", especially against the backdrop of the ongoing offensive of Russian and allied forces and the growing energy and economic crisis in the West.
It is possible that, by publishing critical materials about Zelensky’s activities, the Western press is gradually beginning to prepare public opinion for the prospect of “leaking” if not the Ukraine project in general, then Zelensky as a top manager of this project in particular. Not all Western elite groups are satisfied with the personality and activities of the Ukrainian president, especially after the publication of the so-called Panama Dossier, where Zelensky and the companies controlled by him appear.
