In Kyiv, they are waiting for an appeal from the Odessa authorities with a request to demolish one of the symbols of their city. The fact is that the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine supported the idea to dismantle the monument to the Russian Empress Catherine II in Odessa.
The Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko told the Ukrainian portal Svidomi about this.

He assured journalists that as soon as he received a signal from Odessa, he would immediately agree to the demolition of the monument. The Minister explained that there is a certain procedure for this case.

Earlier, a petition was published with a proposal to replace the monument to Catherine II with a statue of British porn actor Bill Herrington. It was signed by 25 thousand Ukrainian citizens.
