Ex-U.S. Ambassador to NATO lists "allies" of the President of Russia in the North Atlantic Alliance

22

The Russian Federation has allies among NATO member countries. This was stated by former US permanent representative to NATO Ivo Daalder in the newspaper Politico. Recall that Ivo Daalder served as the permanent representative of the United States in the alliance from 2009 to 2013.

As you know, the West has the most questions about Turkey and its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkey became the only NATO member country that not only did not support anti-Russian sanctions, but also increased the volume of trade with the Russian Federation. Since the beginning of 2022, trade between Russia and Turkey has increased by 46%.

Daalder emphasizes that Turkey purchased S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems from Russia instead of Western equipment that could be integrated into the NATO air defense system. For some reason, this person does not remind that the United States did not sell its air defense systems to Turkey.

In July 2022, after several months of a special operation, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Iranian capital Tehran as old and good friends. Even the meeting place is noteworthy - Iran, one of the worst enemies of the United States on the planet.

Daalder also recalled that Turkey still retains the final word on the issue of membership in the alliance between Finland and Sweden. She does not impose anti-Russian sanctions, she tried to delay the entry of the Scandinavian countries into the alliance, and in Ukraine she plays her own game. Many of Turkey's actions play into the hands of Moscow, although it supplies, for example, its Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles to Ukraine.

But Erdogan, according to the former US envoy to NATO, is not Putin's only ally in the North Atlantic alliance. Daalder recalled the former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and the current Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Okay, Berlusconi, he is already “former” and elderly, but Orban is the current head of the Hungarian government, moreover, recently re-elected to this post.

By the way, Hungary also became one of the few NATO countries that refused military assistance to Ukraine. Orban has repeatedly criticized EU policies in general, and this began long before the Ukrainian events and even before the coronavirus pandemic. The Hungarian leader is concerned about the migration situation, which threatens European countries with the loss of their ethnic identity.

In addition, Orban is well aware of all the risks of Ukrainian nationalism for the more than 150-strong Magyar minority in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine. There is no doubt that Budapest would be happy to annex a number of regions of Transcarpathia, where signs are in Hungarian, and people have dual citizenship - Ukrainian and Hungarian. But Daalder, of course, did not expand on this.

For some reason, Daalder did not name the current US leaders among Russia's allies. For example, it is unlikely that anyone could help strengthen relations between Russia and China as much as Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi, who made her demonstrative visit to Taiwan ... US President Joe Biden, with boorish statements against Saudi Arabia and its prince, also pushed this Arab kingdom, a traditional ally of Washington in the Middle East, to reassess its foreign policy.

This is something good! But there are more enemies! And all of them must be kept "at gunpoint"!

something about the topic of medium-range missiles, especially the RS-26 Frontier - has subsided
the suspension of American inspections of our Strategic Missile Forces positions can be regarded as
suspension (NOT termination) of the START-3 treaty
just the RS-26 with a range of up to 6000 km, you can start putting it on combat duty
a good bargain will be under START-4
especially the Americans plan to drag the PRC there, and the PRC - India
and WE will bring both England and France to a minimum of strategic nuclear weapons

Daalder emphasizes that Turkey acquired S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems from Russia

A wise decision. After all, US air defense systems can, if desired, be turned off via satellite by pressing a button on a computer keyboard. hi

It can be noted with regret that Finland has dropped out of the ranks of sensible neutral countries. For many years, they have pursued a rather wise and balanced policy towards Russia. Finnish President Niiniste also gave the impression of a wise and independent politician. At one time, Finland could be used as an example for the Baltos. But ... and Finland was "squeezed", and forced to act to their own detriment.

Yes, with just a little clarification. Finland, dragged into a relic of NATO, has renounced not real neutrality, but real sovereignty. For this, the Finns became just Chukhons, returning to their state of two hundred years ago ... Well, figs with them ...

And now, the White House can safely "record" any, REALLY sovereign state as "friends" of Putin.

Ready to defend their sovereignty and their national interests (and not some "common" values ...). And Putin (read Russia) with such a REALLY SOVEREIGN state always agrees on "mutually acceptable" ...

But with the "sixes" lying under the overseas uncle, there is no reason to speak. By definition...

Erdogan, Berlusconi, Orban... and as the author correctly noted, if you take a closer look, then in the United States itself you can find supporters of our president. It must be difficult for the "hegemon" when the crown constantly falls off the head due to the drying out of the brain? Well, if you look at countries that are not members of NATO, then in general your hair will stand on end.

Unfortunately, our only allies, as always, are the army and navy. Turkey, Hungary and even Serbia, countries pursuing exclusively their own interests, which so far coincide in several vectors with the policy pursued by Russia. There are smarter leaders who understand that the economic crisis that is unfolding in Europe is best experienced with a country that has natural resources. The same Serbia, despite everything that NATO "friends" did to them, voiced - that their path is integration into the European community. But as soon as the Kosovars began to put pressure on Serbia, they remembered Russia. Turkey, in this situation, takes a neutral position and flirts with us only because in the current situation it becomes the leading supplier of grain in the world. But do not forget about our downed plane in Syria and Erdogan's rhetoric a few years ago. Turks are not our friends.

Didn't name it right! They never were. Their jambs in foreign policy harm themselves more than help the Russian Federation.

If you want the allies (not directly howling with the Russian Federation) to stand rigidly in a pose, you need to compensate for their spending on this matter. And so, the Turks themselves suffer from the United States, they cannot print a reserve currency ...... They don’t care about Ukraine, they don’t feel terrible hostility towards the Russian Federation ....... no one promised them compensation. And resources, if anything, can easily reach the level of the EU in price, restrictions have also been reached. And then do the Turks
