Russian Ambassador to China: We proceed from the fact that there is only one China, and Taiwan is its integral part
Russian Ambassador to China Andrei Denisov said that the PRC has the right to take any measures to protect the territorial integrity and state sovereignty. At the same time, Moscow's position on this issue remains unchanged, the diplomat stressed. Denisov specifically noted that the leadership of the Russian Federation considers the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan as a frank and obvious provocation by Washington in an attempt to contain China.
- Denisov expressed the position of Moscow in an interview with the China Daily newspaper.
Commenting on the situation with the large-scale military exercises of the PLA, which the Chinese army is currently conducting near Taiwan, Denisov noted that relations between Beijing and Taipei are exclusively an internal affair of the PRC. The Russian ambassador urged the United States "to refrain from actions that undermine regional stability and international security and recognize a new geopolitical reality in which there is no place for US hegemony."
Chinese media reported that the Taiwan Affairs Office and the Information Bureau of the State Council of the People's Republic of China released a white paper on Wednesday titled "The Taiwan Issue and China's Reunification in a New Era." The document specifically emphasizes that Taiwan belongs to China since ancient times, this statement has a solid foundation in stories and jurisprudence.
- the policy document of the leadership of the PRC says and emphasizes the determination of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Chinese people in their commitment to national reunification.
The Chinese army began large-scale military exercises with rocket firing in six waters around Taiwan immediately after the completion of a visit to Taipei by the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. In fact, military maneuvers led to the blockade of the island. At the same time, Beijing reported that they would conduct exercises for as long as needed.
Experts believe that the blockade of the island in one form or another may last until the issue of reunification is resolved in favor of Beijing. In this case, different scenarios can be implemented - from a direct military invasion to a change of power in Taipei. At the same time, it is especially emphasized that even the United States is unlikely to be able (and even want to) to break through the military encirclement of Taiwan.
