Russian Ambassador to China Andrei Denisov said that the PRC has the right to take any measures to protect the territorial integrity and state sovereignty. At the same time, Moscow's position on this issue remains unchanged, the diplomat stressed. Denisov specifically noted that the leadership of the Russian Federation considers the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan as a frank and obvious provocation by Washington in an attempt to contain China.

Russia's principled position remains unchanged: we proceed from the premise that there is only one China, that the PRC government is the only legitimate government representing all of China, and that Taiwan is an integral part of China.

Commenting on the situation with the large-scale military exercises of the PLA, which the Chinese army is currently conducting near Taiwan, Denisov noted that relations between Beijing and Taipei are exclusively an internal affair of the PRC. The Russian ambassador urged the United States "to refrain from actions that undermine regional stability and international security and recognize a new geopolitical reality in which there is no place for US hegemony."

Chinese media reported that the Taiwan Affairs Office and the Information Bureau of the State Council of the People's Republic of China released a white paper on Wednesday titled "The Taiwan Issue and China's Reunification in a New Era." The document specifically emphasizes that Taiwan belongs to China since ancient times, this statement has a solid foundation in stories and jurisprudence.
