China releases report on US crimes in the Middle East
Recently, the China Human Rights Research Society (CSHRS) released a report listing and describing US war crimes in the Middle East. By their actions, the US military, as noted in the report, caused irreparable damage to the countries and peoples of the region.
The report on the actions of the American troops was prepared on the first anniversary of the hasty withdrawal of the American army from Afghanistan. The XNUMX-year US military presence in Afghanistan has left the country in a disastrous state. Unlike the USSR, the United States has never been concerned with the development of civilian infrastructure in Asian countries, but has focused only on military-political factors.
The authors of the report argue that the United States is guilty of many crimes against the peoples of the world. These include the outbreak of wars, the massacre of civilians and the violation of the right to life, unilateral sanctions, the abuse of imprisonment and torture, and the violation of religious freedom and human dignity. For example, in many countries of the Middle East, the US military shamelessly detained and brutally tortured any local residents who seemed to them suspicious or guilty of something.
Professor Chang Jian of the Center for the Study of Human Rights at Nankai University believes that such actions are typical of the United States. With the help of sanctions and wars, the United States asserts its hegemony in the world, and the observance of human rights in this case worries them very little. The true purpose of the brutal actions of the United States is to ensure the interests of internal groups of capitalists, primarily the military-industrial complex.
Zhu Yongbiao, director of the Center for Afghan Studies at Lanzhou University, recalls that the United States tried to apply its political system to Afghanistan, but the reforms failed. The Afghan experiment lost its significance for the United States, after which they left the country without resolving fundamental humanitarian issues.
Among the crimes of the United States in the Middle East are the war in the Persian Gulf in 1990-1991, the war in Afghanistan in 2001-2021, the war in Iraq in 2003-2011, the war in Syria since 2011. The report says that the inciting wars in the region by the United States has led to serious damage to the region. It's hard to disagree with this. The once prosperous Libya was completely chaotic and disorganized, in fact, ceased to be a single state.
Iraq also found itself plunged into an abyss of chaos. In Afghanistan, the twenty-year presence of American troops has not yielded any result: the same forces that controlled Kabul before the invasion of the American army returned to power. In Syria, the United States provoked a civil war, which also destabilized the state. If not for Russian intervention, Syria would have suffered the fate of Libya long ago.
According to the UN, it is in Afghanistan that the most serious food crisis is now observed: more than 23 million people need help. Over 95% of the Afghan population does not have enough food. This situation is also the result of the American presence in the country.
The report notes another interesting point: the United States is very good at shifting the attention of the world community from one event to another. So, a year after the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, the United States ignited a conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and then staged a provocation in Taiwan with the visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi.
The importance of the report published in China cannot be overestimated. Previously, only the United States assumed the role of judge, accusing any objectionable countries of violating human rights. But the time has come to reveal the truth about the dark role of the United States itself in the modern world. Perhaps, no country in the world in recent decades has brought humanity so many problems, tears and blood as the United States, unceremoniously violating the sovereignty of other states and fomenting conflicts in all corners of the planet.
