Pelosi flew away, Taiwan remained: The plane with the delegation of the speaker on board left Taipei
The Speaker of the US House of Representatives has completed her visit to Taiwan. It is reported that the Boeing C-40C with Pelosi and her delegation on board left the Taipei airport and is heading to South Korea.
Recall that the American politician went on a tour of the Asia-Pacific region. Pelosi plans to visit several US allies at once.
Regarding the previously announced meeting with the Taiwan authorities, the politician kept the intrigue to the last, heating up the military-political situation around the island.
The thing is that in Beijing there was a categorical protest against the visit of the American delegation to Taiwan, which China considers its province. The Chinese authorities announced the threat of violating the sovereignty of their country and promised an appropriate response, including military measures.
However, the plane of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives yesterday, August 2, landed unhindered at the Taipei airport. Beijing has so far responded to the violation of its sovereignty with diplomatic statements, conducting exercises around Taiwan (apparently, a show of force) and minor economic restrictions on Taipei: a ban on the export of sand, two varieties of fish and some fruits.
At the same time, many analysts believe that China will not leave the American "provocation" unanswered. Tomorrow, August 4, PLA exercises around the perimeter of Taiwan will start. Experts say that in this way China can arrange a blockade of the island.
In addition, an operation to return Taiwan to China is not excluded. Moreover, the authorities of the Middle Kingdom call this process "historical inevitability."
As for Pelosi's flight, according to the Flightradar24 website, it is located near the Japanese island of Okinawa (at the time of writing) and, judging by everyone, as it was stated, it is heading to South Korea. The board overcame zones with limited air traffic due to the PLA exercises. According to other sources, China has not restricted the movement of aircraft near Taiwan to date.
As a result, Pelosi flew away, Taiwan remained. What is called, one on one with China.
