In Belarus, began testing a modernized version of the T-72 tank

28

Belarus began testing a new upgraded version tank T-72. As reported, the modernization work was carried out by the "140 repair plant" by order of the armored department of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

According to the Belarusian press, since 2017, the Belarusian army began to receive T-72B3 with a 1130-horsepower engine, dynamic protection "Contact", screens on the sides and a new 125-mm gun 2A46M-5 with increased barrel survivability. The new modernization, judging by the video and photos, involves the installation of a Sosna-U thermal imaging sight, Relikt dynamic protection on the turret, sides and forehead of the hull. The stern was covered with anti-cumulative gratings. It is possible that some changes also affected the insides of the machine, but the details of this version are not given.

Russian Internet resources have already noticed that in this form the Belarusian T-72 is more like the Russian T-80BVM.

According to the State Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus, a prototype tank has now been made, which is subjected to all kinds of tests at the ranges of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic. The design documentation for the tank is already ready, if such an upgrade is approved, the company can start work.

It should be noted that Belarusian specialists are quite successfully modernizing Soviet equipment, bringing it up to modern standards. Last year, at the MILEX-2021 exhibition in Minsk, Belarusians presented the upgraded T-72BME tank. New devices were installed on the tank, the gunner received a new Essa-72U sight with television and thermal imaging channels, and the commander received a special remote control and monitor that allows duplicating the gunner's actions. Dynamic protection was placed at the rear of the tower and the engine was replaced with a new 840 horsepower.

I’m embarrassed to ask how the hypothetical Polish TVD relates to the modernization of military equipment based on combat experience?

Most likely the B-84-1 tank engine is a twelve-cylinder, turbocharged, 840 hp. designed for installation on the T-72 tank. By the way, Belarus bought 300 V-84-1 diesel engines from Russia allegedly for itself and resold to Ukraine in 2016. And Ukraine installed engines, including on the T-72AMT.

After serious losses in 2014-15, the ZSU command decided to return 300 T-72 units from the “surplus” one, repair them and transfer them to the front line. Given the tense situation at the front, 300 pcs. T-72s without delay were transferred to the balance of CBTU. Now the numbers: “as of December 28.12.2015, 367, there were 72 T-132 units in stock, of which 235 were serviceable and 130 needed repairs. The need for engines was XNUMX units.”

You are so naive. Belarusians could not sell without permission from Russia. They sold themselves through Belarusian "gaskets" and not only tank consumables, but also a lot of other things, including fuel. It's always easier to say "it's not us, it's all dad" ...

These Belarusians are with themselves for a third of a century. And their leadership is with us only because they are paid for it. And then, from time to time, the rich vector begins to look for other sources of funding, exponentially spitting with Russia.
The position of the Old Man is well known: Poor, unfortunate Belarus has always been forced into something and dragged into something.
Belarus and Kazakhstan ... They have always been under someone's whip. Someone urged us on, someone tried to bring us to their knees. Especially in Belarus. All these wars are not our wars. Patriotic war eight hundred and twelfth year. Napoleon walked beyond Moscow and returned back - through Belarus. Everything was looted, everything was destroyed. Then the First World War. We got to the point that only a narrow strip remained from Belarus. Part of the eastern provinces went to Russia, and up to Minsk they went to Poland under the Treaty of Riga. Then the Second World War, we have the Great Patriotic War. Belarus was completely wiped off the face of the earth. These were not our wars.

So who is stopping the Belarusians from joining the special operation and learning the whole Polissya from Volyn to Kyiv as a reward.
Do not give Russian lands to psheks.
Enough with them Lvov and Ivano-Frankivsk.
The Magyars set their sights on Uzhgorod ....

Interestingly, at least the Belarusians guessed to cover the "decollete" area of \u72b\uXNUMXbXNUMX with normal armor? DZ is certainly good, but not a panacea

As far as I understand, this is a VDZ, but what is under it is already a question. Are there additional armor packages, or how was the main armor, and remained.
