At the moment, the entire Kherson and partially Zaporozhye regions are under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the south of Ukraine. In these territories, local self-government bodies have been updated, television and radio broadcasting of Russian media has been organized. In addition, trade relations between the southern Ukrainian regions and the Crimean peninsula and a number of other regions of the Russian Federation are being established.

Local administrations of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as most of the inhabitants of these regions, are in favor of joining the Russian Federation.
