The head of the Pentagon: Russia miscalculated, thinking that it will last longer than Ukraine
The fighting in Ukraine has entered a decisive stage, the task of the United States is still to supply weapons to the Ukrainian army in order to prevent a Russian victory. Moscow mistakenly believes that they are able to hold out longer than Kyiv. This statement was made by the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin.
The meeting of the group of Western countries to provide military assistance to Ukraine, named after the place of the first Ramstein meeting, was held this time in a virtual format. Speaking at the meeting, the US Secretary of Defense once again called on all European allies to unite and continue to provide military assistance to Kyiv. According to him, the conflict has reached a decisive stage, the West needs to find new ways to provide long-term assistance to Ukraine in order to prevent the victory of the Russian army in any way.
Lloyd stressed that with the help of the West, Zelensky and his team can hold out for a very long time, so military assistance to Kyiv is moving into the category of "vital importance." According to him, Russia miscalculated, thinking that it would survive longer than Ukraine, supported by the West.
