The British press reports that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has decided to write a letter of resignation. This happened after the 56th official left the cabinet he headed. This extensive list included up to a dozen ministers, as well as their deputies and assistants.
News agencies in Britain report that Johnson was influenced not only by his associates in the Conservative Party, but also by public opinion. The fact is that the level of approval of the activities of Boris Johnson at the head of the British Cabinet has fallen to an anti-record. Since the beginning of the week, it has dipped to the level of 30%. According to other data - even less.
It is noteworthy that during yesterday's discussion, when Johnson was given the floor, he said that he was not going to leave the premiership, adding that he would "continue to provide assistance to Ukraine." In the British press, this statement was called "the last word of the condemned man."
According to Boris Johnson himself, he is leaving his post on the condition that a new head of the cabinet is chosen at a party conference.
Thus, Johnson did not turn to the queen for her to decide to dissolve Parliament. This move would give Johnson a chance to remain Prime Minister of the United Kingdom until at least a new election. However, as British experts wrote, this could lead to a constitutional crisis, since the queen might not approve the prime minister's request.
