The Crimean bridge was covered from a missile attack by a sea "shield" of corner reflectors

Against the backdrop of constant defeats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front, the Kyiv regime seeks "victories" by inflicting rocket and artillery strikes on civilian targets in the Donbass and the border regions of Russia. At the same time, at the official level, it is constantly said that one of the priority goals is the Crimean bridge.

This grandiose structure, from the moment of its design, caused particular nervousness among the authorities of the Independent, demonstrating the break of the peninsula with the Ukrainian past and Russia's intention to turn Crimea into a prosperous region. The existence of the bridge haunts the Kyiv regime and it is quite expected that there will be attempts to destroy it.

Hypothetically, a missile attack on a structure from the HIMARS MLRS transferred by the West is possible. The rockets fired from them are not capable of harming the supporting structures of the bridge, but they can pose a danger to passing vehicles if they manage to overcome the multi-layered air defense covering this strategic object.

But even if enemy missiles are lucky enough to break through, they will have to face the traps set by the Russian military. Footage appeared on the network showing a large ship shield of project 436 bis located near the bridge. Target ships of this type are being built at the Sokol Shipyard in Blagoveshchensk. A grid is fixed on board the barge between the masts, on the tops of which corner reflectors are installed. The homing head of the rocket reacts to the signal reflected from them, taking a false target for a true target.

The bridge is a long one. Here's what I'm interested in:

            - How accurately can (from space? Or how?) determine the coordinates of a particular beam of the bridge?
            - how accurately will the rocket, according to these coordinates, hit this point?

Nirazu not spetsializd in this area, and therefore interested.

The Ukrainians now have the most long-range missiles, these are Harpoons, and they should just be aimed at the reflectors and not at the bridge, because the area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbthe reflectors is much larger than the bridge. On the basis of the Karakurts, it is necessary to create a version of the ship with enhanced air defense, by installing frozen Thors at the stern and in the center of the hull, and this laya is effective only in good weather, and a missile flying low above the water can simply go around this trap.

What is supplied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine exclusively with a radar seeker. GPS at all strategic objects should be jammed, and the television guidance channel works only from the side of an American bomber, in the absence of electronic warfare, of course. Otherwise, a broadband VHF channel for a television seeker simply does not work. More precisely, it works but at a line-of-sight range, and this is no more than 40 km.
So no options. Corner reflectors, if they do not guarantee safety, then reduce the threat significantly.

This, of course, is very interesting, but I still don’t understand how it can protect against defeat at coordinates known in advance as accurately as possible. From third-party illumination of the support, yes, it will probably protect. From a missile guided through a secure GPS channel or a missile using secure telecontrol - no. Here the whole point of the question boils down to whether such missiles will fall at the disposal of Kyiv.

Not quite so, for a similarly sized, low-lying surface object, relative to the radar shadow, there may be a screen and a false target. With proper hydrographic support, the shield (target) can be mobile to a limited extent and move during the "windows" period in the absence of an observer. Additional "targets" can become many in a limited area for accurate target identification. Targets are usually equipped with additional simulators of typical surface target activity.

Setting is usually on "barrels". Moving the target - in tow. My experience of dragging between barrels - 4 "cadet forces" is enough Yes
The long-range RTR (RRLS) can be deceived, and the missiles have become hefty "smart". Here it is probably possible to overload their "head", including with "eyes", a mass of imitation and interference in a short period of time in an area limited for maneuver near the target. It is necessary to ask specialists in anti-ship missiles. This is if we expect the enemy to massage weapons from sea directions to reload the missile defense system. And, from the air, along the OTRK - you can’t hang a balloon there.

About the HIMARS MLRS, and a missile with a firing range of up to 300 km is the OTP ATACMS - a short-range ballistic missile with INS and GPS correction.

Has anyone heard about ballistic missiles with radar seeker?!

    Me not.

So what is the basis for us to make a statement about the protection of the bridge with the help of shields with corner reflectors ???

    PS
Although the Chinese call their Dong-Feng "aircraft carrier killer", here's "for the life of me", I don't quite understand how they will hit a moving target with the ability to maneuver with a ballistic missile without a SBC? The rocket speed is too high for correction (if only powerful gas dynamics), and the problem of a radio-opaque plasma screen at high speed has not gone anywhere.

In short, the dill missile will aim at this thing, not the bridge.

The Ukrainians now have the most long-range missiles, these are Harpoons, and they should just be aimed at the reflectors and not at the bridge, because the area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbthe reflectors is much larger than the bridge. Remember how the poor shot down a passenger plane over the Black Sea, the rocket redirected to a larger target and not to the target.

Ukrainians were able to sink the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet with their missiles

A large target dangling in the sea is not difficult to hit. Moscow was a symbolic flagship, inferior in its capabilities to any modern NATO destroyer, the ship was 40 years old, and taking into account the construction and design, all 50. What do you want from this trough ...

what does age have to do with it - it was necessary to cover the ship (duplicate) if the old native air defense system of the ship cannot work 24 hours a day.

You can make a corner out of cardboard and food foil and launch it from Moldova to Ukraine. For the Russian landing force, air defense reconnaissance
