Member of the European Parliament from Lithuania: Russia wins in absentia in the discussion of the European Commission on transit to Kaliningrad

49

Member of the European Parliament from Lithuania Petras Auštrevičius believes that Russia seems to be winning so far in the ongoing discussion in the European Commission regarding the lifting of the blockade on the transit of goods from Russia to Kaliningrad through the territory of the Baltic state. Auštrevičius expressed this opinion in social networks.

After the introduction by Vilnius of restrictions on rail transit between Russia and the Kaliningrad region through the territory of Lithuania, relations between Moscow and the Baltic state escalated to the limit. The Lithuanian authorities tried to explain the next anti-Russian demarche by a direct order from Brussels. However, European officials immediately denied this, saying that the decision to blockade, although it complies with EU sanctions, was taken by Vilnius independently. Moscow, in turn, in an ultimatum form, demanded the removal of restrictions, calling them illegal and threatened otherwise with harsh retaliatory measures.

The Lithuanian politician said that the topic of transit was repeatedly discussed in the EU this week. Lithuania, which spoke in favor of maintaining restrictions on sanctioned goods, was supported by all EU countries, except for one. Who stood in opposition, the MEP did not specify.

In continuation of the discussion, the discord on this issue between the representatives of the EU states only intensified. As a result, according to Auštrevičius, a document appeared allowing the transportation of sanctioned goods through the EU from “Russia to Russia” — that is, to the Kaliningrad region from other regions of the Russian Federation. And although Lithuania is not mentioned in the document, the draft agreement has been sent to Vilnius for approval. It is understood that since the issue concerns Lithuania, which initiated this problem, it is up to her to make the final decision.

The European Commission document is expected to be published next week.

The MP does not write what position the Lithuanian leadership takes on this issue after the discussion of the problem in the EC. The situation for Vilnius is very difficult. On the one hand, the Balts do not want to give up tough anti-Russian rhetoric regarding sanctions pressure. On the other hand, by refusing to sign the document, they essentially find themselves face to face in a conflict with Moscow, without the support of Brussels.

In turn, it can be assumed that the Europeans are using this precedent to test out some compromise ways out of the protracted confrontation with Russia. It is obvious to everyone that the sanctions have not been successful and, worse, have put the economies of the EU countries on the brink of collapse - in fact, becoming sanctions against themselves. It can be assumed that, having run in Lithuania the scheme when “both the wolves are fed and the sheep are safe,” the EU will begin to develop other workarounds in which the unity of the West will be observed in “punishing” Russia with the creation of certain schemes for the exit of the eurozone countries from under sanctions.

The agreement on transit to Kaliningrad and the agreement on the inviolability of the Lithuanian border in its current form are the SAME document signed by Lithuania and Russia.
If Lithuania does not agree with this document, then it does not agree with its current borders.
There are quite a few disputed areas. When the USSR collapsed, we lost TOO much to Lithuania.
Well, exercises in the Baltic with live firing and blocking the ports of Lithuania (of course, exclusively in the care of civilians so that they don’t get hit by a stray shell) is a good idea.

Well, sooner or later we will go to Lithuania, since the war with NATO is inevitable - that's what it was created for.
Another thing is that now neither we nor NATO will pull the war. So you should simply state your position: Either free transit and old borders, or revision of borders.
Now NATO will prefer to restore the status quo

The question is simple, will we break through the blockade by force or will we limit ourselves to concern? Because NATO does not make concessions to Russia.

It is high time not to express concern or threaten with retaliatory measures and wait for the next move of the "Western partners", but at least to respond with Action to their actions. Apparently, those who are now robbing Russia under the guise of government do not want sudden movements so as not to lose their business and their money in Western banks.

Russia's question to solve the problem of the Suwalki corridor. And since Russia is now not only driving fast, but also harnessing it quickly, the long-awaited reason to make free travel, say, from Bryansk to Kaliningrad through purely Russian territory, is outlined

If transit is restored, then nothing much needs to be done. The EU tried to probe - it did not work out.
If they don’t restore it, then the exercises are coming for about a decade, in the area of the ports of Lithuania, and unfortunately no one will be allowed to enter them until the exercises are over.

Well, or recognition of the violation of the border treaty by Lithuania and a full-fledged blow to it.
There will already be a war with NATO anyway. It's worth hitting first.
(if anything, I live in Poland and I understand very well that if something happens, I will be among the first to be dealt with. Nevertheless, there are no special options. NATO and the EU have played too much. It’s time to put the West back in its place, as in 1812 and 1945)

Transit will not be restored. This is not the EU. This is London. Lithuania is an agent of London, not the EU.
However, the Poles removed the last Kaczynski, who wants, wants very much for Poland to fight with the Russian Federation for the interests of London. (Let me remind you that President Kaczynski, who was killed by the Poles (and his brother), always attacked London, Paris and Berlin in a very sharp form. It is clear: Berlin is the aggressor, and the rest are traitors.)
Only when similar political processes take place in Lithuania (actually an anti-British coup), it is possible that the issue of transit will be resolved positively. But the chances are very small. It is necessary to prepare for the release by non-diplomatic methods.

"Uroda" in Polish - "beauty". This "beauty" has nothing to do with transit. If you want transit, contact Shoigu. There is also visa-free travel to the Soviet Baltic states. Because treaties must be kept.

Yes, Russia has an advantage - it can "turn to Shoigu." But I'm afraid that after that, in the place of Lithuania, it will only be possible to build a large parking lot or something like that. Because everything is covered.
Therefore, I still think that everything will be decided positively, in favor of the Russian Federation and without strikes against Lithuania, which I love very much, because my grandfather is from there. And my wife's grandfather too.

Lithuania is not interested in escalation, the trilateral agreement with the Russian Federation and the EU on the transportation of passengers to and from the Kaliningrad region continues to operate, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte told reporters on Tuesday.
"There is no blockade of Kaliningrad... Transportation (of goods not subject to sanctions - ed.) will continue to be carried out, as well as the transit of passengers, in respect of which we have a tripartite agreement between the European Union, the Russian Federation and Lithuania... Once again Let me emphasize that Lithuania is complying with the EU sanctions that were adopted in mid-March. We definitely never had a goal to escalate anything," Simonyte said

If NATO does not fight over Lithuania, NATO will fall apart tomorrow.

The principle is the principle, but it is one thing to speak and quite another to fight! Seeing the scale of hostilities in Ukraine and their consequences in both casualties and destruction, they will not do this. They have not the same mentality and values.
They want to live BEAUTIFULLY and never die. They don’t even fight for Ukraine, although it is much more important for them! For a long time, they could have simply concluded an agreement with it without its entry into NATO and fought with us for health.
