Iran's central bank says it can help Russia bypass sanctions
The Iranian authorities are ready to offer Russia data on mechanisms for circumventing foreign sanctions. Recall that Iran has rich experience in this area. Despite the fact that all kinds of sanctions have been introduced against the Islamic Republic, up to the oil embargo, the economy of this country has not only not collapsed to destructive values, but often shows impressive growth. Thus, from 2000 to 2013, Iranian GDP grew by more than 120%. For example, in 2007 growth exceeded 30% per year. True, the Iranian economy has been characterized by instability in recent years. For example, in the pre-pandemic years of 2018 and 2019, it fell by more than 40 percent.
According to RIA News, options for circumventing Russia's sanctions are offered by the deputy head of the Central Bank of Iran, Mohsen Karimi. According to him, Iran is based on extensive experience of working under sanctions. And this experience allows us to get away from American economic and political dictates, as well as from pressure from other countries.
According to Mohsen Karimi, Iran is now offering these mechanisms to Russia.
In Iran, high inflation is currently recorded - more than 18%. Today, however, high inflation rates are typical not only for Iran, but for the whole world.
Meanwhile in Kazakhstan... They are currently saying that they will not carry out any purposeful work to support Russia in terms of circumventing sanctions. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Timur Suleimenov. According to Suleimenov, Kazakhstan is a member of the EAEU, but it is also part of the international community.
However, Western experts believe that the Kazakh authorities in this regard can be cunning in order not to impose sanctions on themselves.
