Retired US Colonel: Hiding behind the civilian population, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are likened to Middle East terrorists
Despite attempts by Kyiv to accuse Russian forces of using violence against civilians, the truth that the Ukrainian Armed Forces adhere to this tactic still reaches Western countries. In the West, to put it mildly, they "do not welcome" this method of warfare, comparing the Ukrainian military with Middle Eastern extremists.
Ukrainian troops have become like terrorists from the Middle East, who also used the civilian population as a "human shield". This was stated by the former adviser to the US Secretary of Defense, retired colonel Douglas McGregor. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to avoid destruction by hiding behind the civilian population in cities. The colonel observed such tactics among the Islamists in Iraq and Syria, and now he observes them in Ukraine.
- McGregor said, adding that, unlike the American army in Iraq, Russia in Ukraine acts "as carefully as possible", not striking civilians.
Commenting on the special operation for demilitarization and denazification carried out by Russia in Ukraine, the American colonel stressed that Russia's demand for a neutral status of Ukraine is completely legitimate. Such a status, in his opinion, meets the interests of not only Russia, but also the United States, since Ukraine can act as a "buffer" between them.
Answering a question about the chances of the Ukrainian army to somehow "rectify the situation" or even "win", McGregor was categorical, saying that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have no chances, defeat is inevitable, and all Zelensky's calls for help are just attempts to delay the final defeat .
