Today there was a meeting of the heads of the special services of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the conflict on the border, as a result of which people died. The talks were held by the chairmen of the State Committees for National Security (GKNB) of two states: Kamchybek Tashiev and Saymumin Yatimov.

The reason for the conversation between the two heads of law enforcement agencies was the armed border conflict that took place on January 27. And although the conversation lasted about three hours, their result was only handshakes instead of signatures under the protocols. True, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the results of the conversation.

There are things that are more expensive than protocol. We made a promise, shook hands

- said the head of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan Yatimov during a joint statement at the end of the meeting.

He also expressed regret over the fact that as a result of an armed clash on the border there are dead and wounded.

The head of the Kyrgyz National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, agreed with the words of his colleague.

The conflict between the military of the two countries on the border occurred on Thursday evening. It began with the fact that the Tajik military blocked the passage of vehicles on the road connecting the settlements of Isfana and Osh. By the night of the same day, a ceasefire was agreed, and traffic was restored.

A handshake and a verbal promise with a signed paper is more valuable than a simple promise.
A promise is good because it can be forgotten later.
Since 1992, do you know how many such promises and handshakes?

Sorry, but paper can also be used in a certain institution, and quite for its intended purpose. Are there few examples?

    Handshakes instead of signatures

Well, of course, as expected - "the author is unknown." The conflict (in an open form) is almost 40 years old, and a certain author wants protocols. I wonder what? About remaking borders, or what? In 88-90, not only did they not shake hands, they could not talk at all.

I wonder if these local wars over a hundred meters of land between the former Soviet republics will ever end?

They seem to have previously had conflicts over the division of water from a water source at the border.

Those. perhaps the question is not in square meters but in cubic meters.

In the Ferghana Valley, Kyrgyz, Tajik and Uzbek villages are so mixed that it is unrealistic to draw a clear border. The same picture with pastures, canals, roads, wells. While there was the Soviet Union, they somehow agreed at the local level on water, pastures and roads, no one blocked it, now it's every man for himself!

There is an unresolved territorial contradiction after being part of the USSR. The world will not be there. The ministers will shake hands, and the clans will fight and, for excuses, blame Russia and the Russians for everything. Guess who benefits the most...

Spots of enclaves of various nationalities were of no particular importance during the Soviet era. Then for the oppression of another nation it was possible to thunder strongly. Today it has turned into a bloody showdown almost every day. Without the exchange of territories, the problem cannot be solved or even muffled.
