The Finnish Armed Forces ordered the first Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers

The Army Vehicle for the Army project started in 2019 as a multinational collaboration between Finland, Latvia, Estonia and the Finnish company Patria. Within its framework, the Finnish Armed Forces ordered the first Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers.

The press service of the Finnish Ministry of Defense reports on the conclusion of a contract for the purchase of armored personnel carriers.

These will be pre-production vehicles intended for operation and testing for a possible serial purchase. An agreement on the acquisition of a trial batch of Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers was concluded with the manufacturing company by the Department of Logistics of the Finnish Defense Forces. The purchase package includes three armored personnel carriers, as well as additional training and training for military personnel in the operation and maintenance of vehicles.

The total value of the contract is about four million euros. Combat vehicles will go to the Finnish armed forces in June.

The acquired armored personnel carriers will be tested in the army during 2022. If they are successful, serial deliveries can begin in 2023.

It is noteworthy that the company delivered the very first Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers to the Latvian army earlier than the Finnish one. This happened in October last year.

And why is he "unarmed" - no guns, no machine guns have been installed. Even if these are prototypes, their combat qualities must be fully tested.

      And why is he "unarmed"

Because it's an armored personnel carrier. Armored wagon. No need to make a tank out of it.

          "They are swimming?"
          "Yes, the dog knows them"
"And what to do, how to find out?"
"Let's give it back to the Latvians and see what happens"

Is it difficult to install a machine gun for self-defense?

It does not affect sea trials. Of course they will screw it up when necessary. It’s just that the people are pragmatic, and fussing with weapons ... Get, hand over, list the protocol ....
For the military, the main thing is to get cars.

Patria has many ready-made modules. but if you install it, you will have to sacrifice landing or buoyancy.

was wrong - there is even a module with a 120mm cannon.

Well, our armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, are also not tanks at all, they can provide fire support to infantry, and they can do it well. And this is a miracle .... just a "coffin on wheels." For the transportation of infantry, you can then buy armored Unimogs. The meaning is the same.

        I take it back, sorry!
From the video below, there are weapons and not bad.

A good armored vehicle, you can hang modular armor panels on it, which can protect against 30mm armor-piercing shells.

just kidding, you can’t protect from 30mm in any way, there is a large area of glazing in the forehead and from course angles you can see, and the sides are almost at 90 degrees, in order to protect from 30mm there armor under 50mm vertical should be, if not thicker

It’s not Patria in the photo, but SISU RH180 PISU. Authors should at least upload photos about what they write about or foreign equipment is all the same for them. And commentators, before commenting on a photo, at least know foreign equipment by silhouettes. I immediately noticed that the photo does not match the article.

Vitaly, let's play "find 10 differences"? As for me, PatriaMedia demonstrates the "6x6 armored personnel carrier" and in the photo the same APC 6x6 manufactured by Patria

The new reincarnation of the German Fuchs. The Finns demonstrated the presence of brains. Welded hull, central engine location, uniform axle load distribution, the ability to overcome water obstacles afloat. A good example of how to do it, because wheeled vehicles with a front engine swim a little better than an ax. Against this background, the "Boomerang" is a galosh for parades, but it is fashionable like that of sausage makers and other Ueropies.
