In the European Court of Human Rights, Russia refuted the statements of the Dutch authorities about the failure of the Russian Federation to provide legal assistance in the MH17 case. Mikhail Vinogradov, Russian Commissioner to the ECtHR, pointed out that Amsterdam was misleading the court.
He stated this in his speech at today's court session.
Vinogradov said that out of 29 requests from the Dutch side for legal assistance in the case of the crash of a Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 near Donetsk, Moscow complied with 28, and the last one is still being processed. Thus, not a single appeal of Amsterdam was left without attention.
The Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation expressed regret over the obvious disinformation of the Dutch authorities, which distorts the true situation.
Today's meeting of the ECtHR in Strasbourg is devoted to the consideration of complaints from the Netherlands and Ukraine regarding the death of a Malaysian Airlines passenger plane, which was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
The disaster occurred over the territory of the DPR on July 17, 2014. As a result, all 298 passengers and crew members on board the liner were killed. The West immediately blamed the Donbass militias and the Russian authorities for the incident. The evidence provided by the Russian Federation, indicating the involvement of the Ukrainian military in the crime, the court did not take into account.
