In Kiev, they did not rule out the loss of the Sich-2-30 satellite launched into orbit
The Ukrainian Sich-2-30 satellite launched into orbit, which was supposed to be the first in the space surveillance system, is most likely lost. Andrey Kolesnik, a former freelance adviser to the head of the Ukrainian space agency, came to this conclusion.
The first Ukrainian satellite launched in 11 years, Sich-2-30, is likely lost, Kolesnik said. According to him, the spacecraft launched into orbit on January 13 has not yet been identified and included in a special database, which indicates problems that have arisen with it. The Americans were supposed to establish a connection with the satellite and bring it into the base, since Ukraine does not have its own equipment for this, but so far they have not been able to do this.
According to the ex-adviser, there is no stable or no connection with the device, which is why problems arose. Most likely, he is completely lost, Kolesnik concludes.
Recall that the Sich-2-30 spacecraft was launched into orbit on January 13, 2022 using the American SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle, which was launched from the Cape Canaveral cosmodrome. It was planned that this earth sounding satellite would be the first in the Ukrainian space constellation, and its successful launch would start the revival of Ukraine as a space power.
It should be noted that Kiev's plans for space exploration are quite ambitious, in total, within the framework of the space program, Ukraine plans to launch seven Earth observation satellites into orbit, capable of also performing tasks for the military, i.e. follow the Russian troops. It is planned to collect the entire grouping before 2025, it will include various spacecraft that allow for observation.
