The ex-head of the supply department of the GABTU of the Ministry of Defense was accused of involvement in the theft of 860 million rubles
The ex-head of the procurement department of the Main Armored Directorate of the Ministry of Defense was accused of being involved in the theft of 860 million rubles when concluding state contracts in the interests of the Russian military department.
The criminal case, in which charges were brought against the former head of the procurement department of the GABTU, Colonel Yevgeny Pustovoy, was initiated in March 2020. The reason for this was the contract for the supply of 240 thousand starter batteries to the Ministry of Defense for 2,8 billion rubles. According to investigators, a group of people, which included Pustovoy, inflated prices for batteries, which ultimately led to damage in the amount of more than 860 million rubles.
The colonel was the head of the procurement department from 2016 to 2018. At this time, the department entered into a state contract with the Anix company for the supply of batteries for the Ministry of Defense. A scheme was developed, in which the director of the battery manufacturing plant was also involved. By inflating prices for the supplied products, they arranged for themselves a good increase in the official salary, causing damage in the amount of 860 million 348 thousand 783 rubles
At the moment, Pustovoy has been charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (large-scale fraud by a group of persons and by prior conspiracy), a preventive measure on his own recognizance has been chosen against him. Together with Pustov, Sergey Fedoseev, technical director of Aniks LLC, and Andrey Rybyantsev, general director of Kursk Battery Plant LLC, are involved in the case. Another former employee of the GABTU of the Ministry of Defense is currently being checked for involvement in this crime.
The director of the company "Anix" Fedoseev was the first person arrested in the case and was under arrest, but he admitted his guilt and testified against his accomplices. He is currently under house arrest.
