The Ministry of Defense is strengthening the capabilities of electronic warfare in the regions bordering Ukraine. A separate electronic warfare battalion became part of the 3rd motorized rifle Vislenskaya Red Banner Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov division with deployment in the Belgorod region. The battalion is armed with Leer-3, Borisoglebsk-2 and Zhitel complexes.
According to the press service, the task of the battalion is to create an effective electronic defense and counter the enemy's reconnaissance means. In addition, the equipment used by the battalion servicemen significantly increases the reconnaissance capabilities of the unit.
The electronic warfare complex (EW) RB-341V "Leer-3" was put into service in 2015, the main task of the complex is to jam cellular signals of the GSM standard and suppress 3G and 4G networks, simulate the operation of a cellular base station with sending false messages, detection of phones, tablets, etc.
The Borisoglebsk-2 electronic warfare complex is designed to detect communication and control channels, enemy radar stations and suppress them by jamming.
The R-330Zh "Zhitel" automated jamming station makes it possible to reliably suppress satellite communication equipment, navigation equipment, and cellular communication systems. The station can be used to combat all types of industrial and military UAVs. In addition, the station is also used for electronic intelligence in an extended frequency range. The equipment detects objects with high accuracy and displays them on an electronic topographic map of the area.
