Following the US, Britain recalls its diplomats from Kiev
56
Against the backdrop of general panic over the “Russian invasion”, following the United States, Britain withdraws some of its diplomats from Kiev. We are talking about the staff of the British Embassy in Ukraine.
This is reported by the British television and radio company BBC.
Official London claims that although diplomats are not in danger yet, about half of the employees of the diplomatic institution will return to Britain.
The British media suggests that the actions of the American and British diplomatic institutions are of a precautionary nature, because nothing concrete has happened over the past XNUMX hours that could provoke these decisions. It is alleged that this happened due to concerns about the possible entry of Russian troops into Ukraine.
Earlier, the US authorities ordered their embassy staff to take the families out of Kiev, saying that the Russian invasion is possible “at any time”, because tens of thousands of its troops have accumulated on the Ukrainian border. Meanwhile, Moscow denies that it has aggressive plans against the neighboring state.
The staff of the EU diplomatic mission in Kiev remains in full force at their jobs. At the same time, EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell spoke out against excessive dramatization of the already tense situation around Ukraine.
