Journalists from Ukraine are sure that the Kremlin is preparing an offensive, therefore, it is strengthening its military grouping in the border regions. They find it difficult to accurately determine its size, but suggest that it has between 100 and 125 thousand military personnel. And according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, it is even more numerous - 127.
The publication notes that any of these figures is more than the usual number of Russian troops on the Ukrainian borders in previous periods. And US intelligence suggests that by the beginning of the invasion, the reality of which there is almost no doubt, the Russian military group will grow to 175 thousand people.
At the moment, according to the United States, the Russian Armed Forces have covered the territory of Ukraine from three sides. One side is the eastern border of Ukraine. In the north, the Russian army is located near the Kiev and Chernihiv regions. And from the south, Ukraine is allegedly threatened by a grouping of the Russian Armed Forces stationed on the Crimean peninsula.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny believes that this is only the beginning, because the Russian army has almost a million military personnel, of which 780 thousand Moscow, if necessary, can be transferred to Ukraine in a week.
Earlier, the United States announced its readiness to transfer an additional 3-4 thousand American troops to Eastern Europe to contain Russia.
